WOMEN on OH, I need your help!

So for school I have to design an accessory for mobile PHONES.

There are a few requirements:

  • The target audience is WOMEN (age, etc. weren’t specified).
  • It can be used on the BICYCLE.
  • The product must be attached to the phone.
  • It can be made out of metal or plastic.
  • It should currently not exist yet.

I hate this project. I can’t think of anything. You’re my last resort ;-;

The problems I can think of for women on bikes are: Skirts and high heels.
I don’t know what product could resolve these problems though, especially since the product should be attached to your phone…

Do you have any ideas for a new product that meets these requirements?? And have you experienced other problems or annoyances on the bicycle?

I’m really grasping at straws here ;-;

Hmm... lil speaker that attaches onto the handle of the bike that connects to the phone (that can be attached to the bike as well)e, so you can listen to music while riding a bicycle without headphones and still hear like traffic or if a pedestrian is calling you? Does that exist already?

An idea is that on the phone case you can attach a small, portable storage space where you can put hairbands, rings, bracelets, earrings, and bobby pins in so you won't lose your accessories when riding (or if you want to tie your hair and keep it in place from flying everywhere when riding). Or you can put bandages, alcohol pads, and other small medical supplies in it if you often fall off a bike, this way it's ready to go and accessible. smile.png

edit: lol maybe this was already invented *dead*

My hair is usually a mess since I'm always speeding down hills so maybe something like a comb that attaches to your phone? Since it wouldn't take up as much space as an actual brush.

I'm not sure if this is something my professors are looking for. I assume you'd use the comb after arriving at your destination, since the wind will mess up our hair anyway if we use it while riding the bike. idk to what extent the function of the product should be related to riding the bicycle, but I'll tell my groupmates about the idea. Thank you laugh.png

It should be designed specifically for women warstarplz.png That's what makes it so hard.

Thanks for the answer. laugh.png Don't women have purses or handbags for this? Almost every girl I know already carry some kind of bag. I don't know if it would have much added value. rlytearpls.png Correct me if I'm wrong though

I think those who casually ride bikes for a simple bike ride at the park from time to time usually carries bags which this product may not for them. But maybe women who does it as a daily exercise activity in the early morning or long hours may not want to be tied down to looking after a handbag. And instead wants to just keep it minimal and low maintenance like on a small phone instead of carrying and checking every 10 minutes if their (perhaps expensive) 5 lbs handbag hasn't been blown away by the speed.

fyi, im not trying to put you down or anything lol. Just trying to help you laugh.png

Oh I forgot about cultural differences lol. People here mainly ride bikes as a means of transportation rather than leisure or exercise. We often commute to work/school or friends by bike. Maybe I can narrow the target group down to women who exercise haha. I'll suggest it to my groupmates.

I know these exist for keychains but maybe not for phones - a small pepper spray or other protective weapons that looks like a normal/cute accessory

Women who like doing early/later bike rides in the park could use it for protection?

That's illegal here haha but thanks for the answer!
