What kind of music do you want TWICE to do 5 years later?

Since Thrice keep saying that Twice is doing kindergarten songs/concepts, eventhough I like the route they're taking for now, I wondered what are thoughts of the Onces ?

Twice is one of the a few groups that have their own distinctive sound and I dont want them to lose it. But instead they may have more maturised concepts still using the colorpop sound. If the lyrics become more feminine than girlish, I don't think it would be a problem even if they near their 30's. Here are some examples:

I'VE SAID THIS SO MANY TIMES BEFORE I CAN HEAR WHAT PARTS TWICE MEMBERS WOULD SING IN A LOT OF THEIR SONGS rlytearpls.png

I love twices colorpop sound so much and I agree I can see them holding onto those same elements but with a more mature sound in the future... dolls is a perfect example for me

They'll eventually do something really different, all the girls clearly enjoy doing the sexy thing as we've seen from their special stages. So I can see that in their future, just like with T-ara and SNSD.

Well, actually many groups who switched their concepts off  from cute/innocent to sexy/badass have lost their popularity. I don't want them to end up like KARA(Step to Pandora/Damaged Lady), SNSD, Wonder Girls (Like This to I Feel You), f(x) (RPP to Red Light) and even GFriend(Navillera to Fingertips).

Most of those groups lost their international appeal also almost as soon as their domestic success decreased. Many of those people that had been saying they wanted to see the XX group in sexy concept did not keep supporting them, even some of their fans...

As a perfectionist, I want twice to end their career without having songs that sold less than a million, MV's watched less than 200 millions, albums sold less than 150k...

I wouldn't like something like Miss A (I guess since I didn't follow them I don't really notice a more mature concept - at least before Hush, which is the only one I got to see), but something like Hurt Locker or Sugar Free would be cool. I'd like something akin to Hush but I don't think it will happen.

Tbh I don't think changes within kpop genre for ggs are that substantial, so I just want them to have great melody-driven hook-filled TT-level masterpiece. That's what I am for in kpop.

But there's also groups who became popular by switching from cute/innocent to sexy/mature. There's also groups who stagnated because they didn't really change much at all. The bottom line is that unless JYP starts hardcore mediaplaying the girls as true artists and having them produce all their music, they'll start declining like all other girl groups eventually do.

Btw I don't really think some of the groups you named had as drastic of a change as you seem to. Tons of people said Lion Heart and especially Holiday were too childish for Snsd at their age.

Groups eventually not selling as much as in their peak is simply because they lose hype with time. It's not necessarily because of their direction of concept change. Wonder Girls for example couldn't keep up with their previous releases because of their hiatus and the fact that they were shipped off to a different country, I Feel You still did decent and Why So Lonely was a huge hit. SNSD's latest album sold quick and probably would have sold much more if SM would have bothered.

What I want to say is, repeating the same thing over and over again will not keep the public interested. Singles are pushed more so by the GP and than the fans. Plus, you mentioned wanting every single by Twice to cross a million but Likey and Heartshaker already did less. Likey 700K~ and Heartshaker 400K~. Overall, I feel like Twice will eventually change their concepts but mostly because the girls themselves seem to want a change. As an artist, you want to change and develop. Do things different.

How can you know likey and heartshaker "already did less" when both are still charting and gaon stop giving number of download?

Actualy those groups that got popular by switching from cute/innocent to sexy/mature concept were not recognised for their previous releases. People acknowledged them with their sexy concepts, most of them even without being aware of their cute songs' existence. They got popular for their sexy concepts and not many people knew about their innocent side. We can name Girls Day, Stellar and kinda CLC for that kinda groups.

On the other hand I'm not sure if you can name a group which was popular for their cute concepts but switched off to sexy and became equally/even more succesful.

1) I do definetly agree with it.

2) Likey was released in October 30th and 40 days after came HS in December 11th. As both of the dates are close to the year end, they did not get that much downloads. However I'm sure both of the songs will cross the 1 million mark when Gaon will add this year's download numbers on the remaining ones...

Snsd last more 10plus years in the kpop industry and still sold 170k+ their last album I'm really getting tired of some of you "people" belittling snsd career like their not one of the best selling kpop act

They probably would have sold more if they didn't only just have only 3day to promote the comeback and sm stop restocking the album
