TWICE is already in their second tour, plus Japanese CFs and activities >>>

they're all still young as groups, at this point they're probably still paying/just paid their trainee debt

i guess i don't know about the other groups, but gfriend completely paid off their trainee debt in february of last year

Not all of the groups are paying back trainee debt. I know for sure TWICE is one since JYP trainees don`t pay back their trainee debt.

Actually, MAMAMOO makes quite alot of money. They've already paid of their debt (which I don't think any group above has?) plus royalities, plus numerous festivals, concerts, and a few CF's. They are indeed very rich business  womendave.png

Most profitable source of revenues in kpop:

Touring

CFs

Physical

Commercial paid performance

It is well-known that JYPE does not charge 'trainee debts' to their artists.

Won't be difficult to figure out the subject matter if people are serious about it.  Just go and check concert ticket sales, no. of CFs, no of total physical sold since debut.

Mamamoo recouped all the money invested to get them to debut (2 billion krw) in 1 year and 8 months. Their debut was in June 2014. Already after Um Oh Ah Yeh promotions in late 2015 they moved out of the company dorm and started living independently and they would not have been able to do this if they weren't getting paid.

One of the reasons they started getting income so quickly was because they were in demand and went to so many festivals and events where they performed live. Things like money from music sales take time to roll into the bank account of the company and then trickle down to the artist but festivals and events are an immediate payday.

Groups from JYP don't have to pay their debt... I don't know about the other ones but Twice I think they are number 1 in income...

AFAIK this is about the money they make in general, not how much the girls get lol. Number of members is irrelevant. But still, JYP gives more money to the idols than SM, so...

Possibly? But, the fact that they have to divide it among 9 members, plus share with JYP dwindles down fast. MMM makes 60% of whatever they earn plus they are known for having royalities for their famous songs so that adds up fast.

But, then again, their's no point "arguing" about who makes more money. All of them are thriving and making more money than many of us can dream.

Bruh let's not be delusional. Twice is waaaay above RV because they have a much larger fanbase and JYP promotes them much better than SM does RV.

Also... I know you're a mega troll - pls fake support another group and not push this RV vs Twice bs on OH

idol groups from the Big 3 get paid from the beginning of debut.

-----

There really isn't any point arguing this though when their income is not visible to us -- we don't have concrete numerical record. Although it's kind of almost a certainty that twice and red velvet are in top 2.

But this discussion will continue anyways.

Just remember: Biggest source of income for idols is CF's, concerts, and festivals. Additionally, acting if at least one of the members goes into this route (eg Joy. not sure if there are others) .

Rarely do they get money from how well their songs do digitally

Unless they contribute to composition, lyrics, production. Because, royalties.

---

For non big 3 companies, you can probably get an indication of how much they've been earning based on how long it took to pay off their debt. On average, it takes 3 years to pay it off for a mid-end idol group (for reference it took AOA this long).

Gfriend: Jan 2015 -->  Feb 2017 : 2 yr and 1 month

Mamamoo: June 2014 --> Jan 2016: 1 yr and 8 months

These numbers are really good, compared to the average.

SM literally gets sued for slave contract

SM artists only win over SM when they promote overseas

People are really denying the facts here ? Lol number of member is irrelevant.

If I have 30 millions dollars and share it with 10 people I’m still richer than my best friend who have 1 million and share it with 2 people.

We talk about the revenue the group is making.

Twice made more than 15 millions dollars in Japan only, 6 months after their debut there.

Now add their Koreans release sales (1M+), koreans cfs, Japanese cfs, concerts tours revenue, tons of merchandise etc.

Do y’all really this delusional?

They are by far the gg with the biggest income at the moment, even if there are 9 members. They’re just making so much money so the number of member doesn’t mean anything at this level. It’s logical. + BIG3 groups don’t even have trainee debt to pay so they’ve been paid since their debut.
