Anyone use Reusable/Cloth Menstrual Pads?

So I recently discovered cloth/reusable pads and I was wondering if anyone uses reusable/cloth pads?  Would you recommend them?

I looked into them and read about how it's actually healthier and better for the environment because they don't have chemicals and there are organic ones.  There are so many cute designs too!

Anyone have recommendations for any specific stores? I'm more interested in stores run by regular folks and not big companies/chinese imports.

I saw some videos on how to clean them on Youtube.  It doesn't seem that hard:

I only have one reusable pantyliner, but I just pretreat with some detergent and throw it in the washer and there are no stains. Having dark colors and patterns help hide if there were any.

Honestly, tmi, my flow is too heavy due to pcos related shit to even deal with a normal pad, so something like this is highly unappealing to me.

praying for you sis rlytearpls.png.  I'm currently on the pill cause the doc thinks i have endometriosis.  We're waiting to see if that's the case rlytearpls.png

^ My flow is way too heavy unfortunately. I would consider these for my 3rd or 4th day, when my period is basically over, but I go through so many pads on day 1 and 2 that I'd have to invest in WAY too many of these for it to be worth it.

The fact that you have to get like 20 for it to last a cycle is kinda of a turn off.  Those pads aren't cheap but they're cost effective in the long term.  I need money rlytearpls.png

think they might be useful for economic purposes, never heard of them before tbh

They seem like a popular alternative to main stream menstrual products.  One of the big "convincing factors" seem to be the fact that they are economic in the long term cause you only need to buy enough to last you a while.

if you can sew you can make them out of some thick flannel yourself which might cost less

I use Thinx currently which is kind of a similar concept but I kind of hate them because they're poorly made (they cost like $30 individually but the fabric they're made of unravels easily even though I wash them on delicates and line dry)

I dont have a sewing machine rlytearpls.png.  But I wouldn't mind making them, it sounds like it could be a fun project!

I've only ever heard people praising Thinx.  Granted most were sponsored posts lol.  Thanks for the heads up regarding them!

I do. I got it as a free sample (just paid for shipping) and now I'm thinking about buying regular sized pads.

Cool! I hope it works for you! Do you know where you would buy it from? (Sorry for asking so many questions)

So does one last you like the whole day? Because what if you're out and you use one (on a heavy day) and you need to replace it. Where would you put the used one? Would you get like a special bag or something?

Idk if my question makes sense LOL

Apparently you can get wet bags and wraps for it.  Tbh, I would rather wear the reusable ones at home and wear disposables when I'm out and about.  I don't want to carry used pads around -_-'

I would never wear those because I'm too annoyed and traumatize with this whole bleeding thing, that's why I don't have periods anymore, I use birth control to stop it

It's 2018 and people still put up with periods  warstarplz.png

lmaooo well it does have it's function.

Not sure yet. I still have to review the different brands so I might buy directly from their websites or through Amazon or Etsy.

I just can't be bothered to wash it tbh LOL. I already have a hard enough time forcing myself to do laundry that I just ceebs washing a separate batch of reusable pads.

I wash all of my bras by hand so it doesnt seem like that much extra work for me rlytearpls.png.  I've seen some people say that you can throw them in the washer after an initial soak.

Thanks for the website ahmagahplz.png.  I like the idea of etsy, mostly to support independent makers of pads.
