I think the main issue is the lack of cohesion. There's 9 of them, so having all 9 in outfits that don't really relate to one another makes the styling look messier than it actually is. The only thing that goes together is their shoes.

The mixing and matching of some of the outfits individually are ok but some definitely aren’t good, which imo is the reason why it looks bad when you look at the group’s outfit as a whole.

The one thing I hate is that 90% of the time they give Jihyo the most basic outfits. Always just top and skirt/shorts, and they never give her any acessories and stuff. Like, something that is making me really mad rn:

On What is Love? photoshoot she has a choker and a beret on this outfit from the OP. And on her individual one a choker and headband(as you can see on my DP). Then when she goes on stage she just has the clothes with nothing else, even when other girls have their complete looks. It's likey they just don't care about her.
