Openly gay K-pop idol Holland recently gave an interview to Kyunghyang News where he discussed what motivated him to come out, and the difficulties he faced as an out teenager in school.

Fans became concerned that those who had bullied him have since become idols, and began asking for names to be revealed via social media.

Concerned that fans may have misunderstood, Holland has clarified he never said anything about idols bullying him. See the official statement below.

“Holland confirms that he didn’t mean the ones who bullied him became idols or actors.â€

We've got an exclusive interview with Holland by Sam Hammington coming next week, so stay tuned for more.

i am CONVINCED that koreaboo used google translate to translate that article in question.  theyre fucked up

It's even worse than that, since I did use google translate initially to read the article they supposedly got this information from. It's not there. They just inserted the bit about idols bullying him from rumours created by english speaking fans.

I think what they rely on are those so-called tips that pretty much anyone can send them. Also most of their interns are stupid teens on stan twitter so I'm not surprised

huh, why are people bringing up koreaboo and allkpop? this was all started cause of a fan on twitter saying it, and then it caught fire and spread. i don't even think those articles are even known(first i've heard of them) compared to the tweets.

Koreaboo published an article based off the rumours and quoted Holland as if he actually said it. They also referenced a previous interview he did and also quoted that, so at first it did seem like legitimate news to anyone that was stumbling across it for the first time.

Ultimately, Koreaboo gave 'legitimacy' to the rumour that was initially just among fans on twitter.

just to get tea and not actually bc they cared about holland and the hardships he went through.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Whenever I see someone in a thread using the word "tea" I cannot take them seriously. Why? It's because it makes people look like they're living for the drama.

And not only that, but there were people naming idols left and right even idols who were a decade older than Holland because they appeared on a list of allumni on the school that they think he went to wikipedia entry. I admit i thought the idol bullying was true, but stopped believing it when the OP said that it was'nt there at all.

Koreaboo added fire to this shit, like they always do. They are known for either adding or twisting translations. There are so many stories about them either leaving out words, or adding dramatic stuff to sensationalize.
