Genie: 1 (2 consecutive months)

Soribada: 1 (2 consecutive months)

Bugs: doesnt have monthly chart

Olleh music : 1 (2 consecutive months)

Artists topping melon monthly charts for 2 months in a row.

 

But empty house song ,no impact song,no one streamed other than ikonics because everyone one else just focused on Olympics, YG paid charts for more than 60 days??

 

Is this empty house for you? People with larger public recognition than iKON and have had hits & popular songs in the past?

 

Every day i streamed on genie in January and February, i saw new releases almost every single day from non idol singers. The list above is for those known artists but in fact i saw much more artists releasing who are probably not known by ifans (read: non idols)

 

A recent YouTube top comment on Love scenario MV and this is just one account. We still have A LOT

Idk we've been telling them & posting receipts & stuff since January but they still say it. It's even more ridiculous every time they said it, more & more receipts came out to prove them wrong LMAO

None of the competitor songs in March was released on 1/3/18, this melon monthly chart is based on 1/3-31/3/18 with emphasis on streaming so yeap that's the reason why none of the other march releases topped the melon chart. Big bang didn't even end up in top 3 of melon monthly chart for march despite the many PAKs because of this reason as well. It's the same reason as why love scenario didn't end up as #1 (but #46) on the Jan melon chart despite being a January release.

 

But yes, ikon's song love scenario is doing really well, definitely on the running for soty. I'm definitely not doubting love scenario nor iKON, that song has been proven to have amazing longevity, just looking at its ULs months after its release. But I would just like to correct some misconceptions above.

Don't forget Love Scenario was 40 days old when March rolled around.. a song that old... even if a song comes out mid march... 95% of the time the new song takes over the old song because it's just OLD.

Just compare the figures for their 5 week digital index! A 3 week index for March songs have already matched the figures of a 5 week index for February songs. Is this not an empty house?

 

Yes iKON's song needs amazing longevity as well to clinch the March title, but they were also helped by February's lack of digital monster releasing songs. If big bang had released flower road in end February, the results for March would have been different.

Roy Kim and Jung Seun Hwan (Nell, Dynamic Duo, etc) are known to be digitally strong. Kim Heechul's previous knowing brothers song hit #1 and stayed there for a while. Just because the GP did not prefer their songs this time? but they continued to stream Love Scenario doesn't mean empty house. Your need to come to an appreciation thread and fight over this? Just because iKON got March monthly over Mamamoo... sigh..  it's honestly sad and I'll say I'm disappointed but not surprised. 

 

and your "if if if if" lol... if IU released on same day as almost everyone then IU would be on top.. if Big Bang also released same day as any group or artist.. they'll come on top.. stop with your ifs. it's... irrelevant

If you faves have achieved all these, you would have defended their ass with your live, but since it is iKON, you are so pathetically trying to debunk their achievements with your 'if's. You are sounding so pressed and delusional, just stopped. Feb was not empty month just like Jan was not, if Feb was empty month, red velvet should have topped no, in your logic. Or the Jan releases should have topped the Feb chart. What are you even smoking? Bigbang and iu are on another level, they would have dragged every idol group including twice to hell and back. Even though people are still showing receipts you go on and on about the empty house for feb. Wanna one ipu was released on 5th March with an mv, did much much better than boomerang, mamamoo on the 7th, heize on the 8th, if your feb empty house is logical, they should all have topped for March, but idiot, a Jan song is still topping in March and you have the nerve and the audacity to talk about empty house. You are embarrassing yourself. The song is good, the public is crazy about it, to the extend it has created a syndrome and here a delulu istan who is not even in korea still has the face to call it empty house. Talk about no knowledge in kmusic, Korean aetist. Also people are actually scared to release during the Olympics because they fear they will be slept on, but love scenario did outstanding well, it out charted, outsold everybody including my fave all time group, my BIGBANG, and I have the humility to accept that reality. Better you do it too, rather than coming to an achievement thread where you sound do salty and pressed.

It's only possible because the public continues to stream and support iKON's Love Scenario even though it's over 2 months old now~~

 

First idol song since Gee means NINE YEARS

 

Hopefully people stop being ridiculous and trying to downgrade it. Obviously in 9 or 10 years if no other idol did it your qualifers are meh

 

FYI January's song 5 week index for iKON was higher than all of 2017 too...so all of 2017 was an empty house by that logic lol.

 

Seems like we need a thread with all the GAON digital indexes for the Monthly SOTY nominees so people can actually understand and comprehend the data because February numbers do not reflect an "empty house."

 

Heck JDC released in Nov and Twice in Dec but JDC topped Jan charts.

Yeah sure we obviously have differing opinions on this and I'm not here to pick a fight.

 

Only reason why I responded is because certain users are indirectly belittling the strength of March releases, to which I'm explaining the main reason why March releases did not top the March chart is because they did not have the full one month period to chart. And the other reason is yes, love scenario has amazing longevity as well (which everyone here on this thread has already recognized this fact).

 

I'll let the figures speak for themselves. Roy Kim's song sadly did not have longevity despite a strong start. Many reasons which could be attributed to the winter olympics for this (there were no music shows, people's attention was on the olympics). When the #2 song for February wouldn't even be able to make it on another typical month's top 5, to me it's an empty house.

 

Okay if you do not like the term empty house, may I say February was a month severely lacking in strong releases?
