There are people who are talented and empathetic and amazing in other walks of life not limited to academic merits. So it all depends on the actual person. Having a low GPA doesn't necessarily mean you're an idiot, it just means you're not dedicated to school, and have other passions outside of the norm. Or super lazy so your grades aren't good like me.
