Was KARD a Fad?

They got super popular because of they're a co-ed group.

I noticed that a lot of people were complaining about their songs being the same.

So maybe? I don't know, I wasn't into KARD in the first place, not my style.

They still have the potential to become really popular if they manage to come out with a song that the Korean general public likes a lot. And even now they are decently popular internationally.

Kard's problem is, not having a home and a market they can rely on.

They concentrated on getting known internationally without caring much for sk and that left them being completely insignificant there. Internationally though they have a whole other problem: k-pop is standard contemporary pop music like it's produced and listened to in so many countries, so they are fighting against local artists and internationally known western pop artists and thats a fight they gonna loose. They appeal to people who like the visual asthetics which come with k-pop and want to see a co-ed group but musically they don't surprise anyone internationally.

So while i think Kard as group will of course continue to exist and have their fans, the idea behind the project fell through completely and no other studio will try something similar in the forseeable future.
