From debut, these two have been writing their own lyrics, something that is not common with SM artists. I know that Minho from SHINee took part in writing his rap parts from debut as well. But Taeyong and Mark are more serious about rap making. Is this why they have writing credits on the songs? Does SM wants these two young guys to have more independence with their music? They only debuted 2 years ago and already have more writing credit than their seniors. Do you like this? Do you hope Taeyong and Mark can drop their own mixtape? Does SM want to be taken more seriously in the Korean rap game? Should other members also take part in their music composition? I know Jaehyun has in "Firetruck" but I think he only wrote his spoken-singing part at the very beginning of the song. What do you think? Having the artists take part in producing/writing has become more important conceptually speaking, at least for boy groups. So SM just hopped onto that train.
