The mental gymnastics of stans never ceases to amaze me

It's not just the Suho situation but in other situations when idols fuck up, fans know they fuck up, but they put on blinders and twist it in every single way possible just to protect them. Honestly it's the craziest thing. These idols don't know you, they don't care about you. You're not gonna get a pat on the back for defending someone who fucked up. I'm not saying you have to hate them but why is it so hard for fans to admit when their idol did wrong? I stan idols who have fucked up but you're not gonna see me trying to invalidate the feelings of others or dumb myself down just to make me feel better for liking them. The only thing I can do is acknowledge it and move on.

Like I am so over putting celebrities on pedestals because I finally learned that they're human, too and many of them don't deserve to be thought of so highly.

Plus they know they can get away with it because the first source to break anything wanky is usually allkpop and everyone hates that site.

I've definitely learned over the past few months that you should definitely be wary about trusting I-fans who knows absolutely no Korean when it comes to scandals. Way too many will blatantly lie to protect their faves even if it ends up pretty innocuous drama at the end of things.

tho otoh, there's also the problem of people jumping to blindly hate on someone based on half-truths and incomplete information who'll never admit to being wrong who're just as bad imo.

Yeah I agree

Not everyone is offended by the same things, but I just really hate when people try to tell others how they're supposed to feel. If someone is legitimately hurt by something, then they have the right to feel hurt. It's not anyone elses' place to tell them how to feel

I do think we shouldn't defend someone if they did something wrong, but tbh 'wrong' can be subjective in some cases. What one deems wrong isn't wrong for everyone. But in the general sense I agree with your point. Another thing that I really hate is when you see people pretending they care about an issue but they really don and only get involved bc they hate an idol.

dlkfjgldfkgf

ok idk if you're aware of this or not but

I quote: "It's hard to explain.. "jeong-sin byeong-ja" is somewhere in between "i would look like crazy/insane person"  but it:s not derogatory in its traditional meaning. There's no exact english term nor meaning for it. Korean use them endlessly."

so you're saying stop putting celebrities on pedestals because they're human

yet bash them for saying something literally the entirety of korea is also saying

and also yeah it seems to me this is something like the difference between "crazy/insane" and "mentally ill" in english, a non-english speaker would be confused what the difference is but english speakers all know there's a huge difference

ofc if what he said was actually derogatory then I think he should stop, but to ask him to publicly apologize for something everyone else is doing and witch hunting him is kind of over the top

but ye I agree with you, when idols mess up fans should let them know, and they should apologize if necessary

and ofc this goes both ways, when idols mess up, ppl shouldn't blow up the situation either

edit: came off as hostile, sorry dlkfgjldfg

I didn't mean to focus on you I meant other ppl overall bashing suho just because of this
