Do people often tell you to smile?

So I went to costco today and some worker guy told me to smile as I was going towards the exit. The thing is, this isn't the only time I've been told that but throughout my life, since I was a kid...i've been told to smile more. I didn't really understand it since I was just making my neutral face but apparently I look like I'm frowning fck! I don't really know how to fix it and it's bothering me :c

No, they usually ask me why am i smiling, And i tell them should i be crying?

It's easier getting closer to people if you smile, but you don't have to completely chane yourself, maybe lookout if you're crunching your eyebrows, cause that might be misinterpreted as you being angry. I did get that sometimes.

RBF problems, life is hard having to please other people!!! I got called out in class by a teacher asking me at 8AM in a shitty ass tone if I "was mad" or if I "had a problem" and if I "was okay".....Like its early and thats my face so being called out in the middle of a class just sucks tbh

smile only if you want to!

one guy at my job told me I should smile because it looks better.. well f*** you I'm not being paid to smile (of course I smile during the day, it's just that no one has to tell me when to)

it's annoying that people think that a girl has to smile for her to be "more beautiful". I dont have to be more beautiful to anyone.

give me a reason to smile and I'll do it, if not mind your own business

First off, it's rude (especially of strangers) to tell someone you don't even know to do something like smile; whether it be for them or in general. They don't actually know the reason for your expression &/or body language, therefore it's really not their business or place. When the demand is constant, just ignore such people.
