Tattoo 1 (Behind her neck): "Maria"

Significance: Hwasa's Christian name, indicating her belief system

 

Tattoo 2 (located on right arm): "Paradise is where you are"

Significance: It is a tattoo she shares with, who acted like a big sister to Hwasa (and the other members) during their trainee days. It should also be noted that this tattoo is in the shape of a cross, inspired once again her Christian faith.

 

Tattoo 3 (Located above tattoo 2): Triquetra

Significance: Not much is known about this tattoo, except that she shares it with a group of friends.

 

Tattoo 4 (behind the ankle): Resonance

Significance: She shares this tattoo with her same-aged best friend since middle school, and fellow Mamamoo member, Jung Wheein. It is also a word that signifies that they will walk the path of music together.

Tattoo 2 (left arm): "la vie est courte l'art est long"

Significance: Life is short, art is long. It is a phrase that dates back as far as ancient Greek times. Wheein is known to be passionate in her pursuit for art, from drawing, composing/lyric-writing, and visiting art galleries. It is a phrase that signifies how much she values art.

 

Tattoo 3 (right arm): Magnolia

Significance: The tattoo design is her own drawing. Her conception dream is a magnolia.

Tattoo 1 (left arm): N'oublie pas de t'aimer

Significance: Don't forget to love yourself. Moonbyul has voiced her struggles with her lack of confidence and insecurities as fitting in a group known for being a vocal powerhouse. She has since gained more confidence, especially with the help of her members. This tattoo symbolizes a more positive frame of mind.
