Is Juri the leader of SixTones? He seems like it in their yt video but they said he's always late which is also un-leader like.

no prob 😄 I’m not sure so don’t quote me on this but I don’t think jr units have a leaders. But if or most likely when they debut I think Juri will become the leader.

I remember Kitayama being the leader when Kisumai when jrs. I think it just depends on the group as a lot of the debuted groups don't have leaders either (and some are leader in name only like Ohno laugh.png ). Juri just gave me that impression so I hope he'll be their leader.

Sorry to bombard you with questions, but I just realized there was no volleyball group in 2015. Do you know what happened?

i don't know why they didn't debut  2015 volleyball group, i don't think they gave an actual reason . But if i had to guess then i think it might be because they had already debuted 4 groups at that point (2011-2014 debuts kisumai, sexy zone, a.b.c-z and Johnny's west)  so i guess 5 group would be too much. Not to mention Sexy zone who were and still are getting the most push were not selling as well as you would hope( they have what i call jojo sales some times sell extremely well and in the next release their sales drop a lot ) , so i guess they wanted to focus on the groups that they had already debuted first, but this is just my own theory so if someone knows the real reason then feel free to tell us.

That makes sense. Thanks for answering.

btw i found this photo of johnny´s jrs but its old from 2016. i think it might help understand why J&A can't debut everyone.

That's only 100 kids. I doubt that's all of them. I remember a long time ago someone saying there were over 200 juniors. I just counted the names on the Japanese wikipedia page and it was 187.

The rumors should die down then. If K&P’s debut’’s successful, should they get a debut too later on?

who knows there is a lot of contenders for the rest of the debut spots if johnnys will continue debuting like they did before then there are still 3-4 debut spots up for grabs. two other debut seasons went like this 2003-2007 four groups debuted ( news, kanjani8 , kattun and hey say jump) + 2002 tacky and tubasa (duo) debuted too and the next one was 2011-2014 again four groups debuted ( kisumai, sexy zone , a.b.c-z and Johnny's west). Sixtones in my opinion is definitely debuting they are the most popular unit after kinpuri. Love-tune is a popular unit too but the youtube channel might change the popularity ranking in the long run  so i guess we will have to wait and see whats going to happen in the next 4-5 years

feel like sixtones was kinda hinting that they are debuting in their last video when they were talking about what they want sixtones to reach most units would say they hope to debut but sixtones jumped straight to wanting to become national idols and internationally known. i don't know am i crazy or did someone else pick that up too?

Not debuting equals to not being managed well in my opinion.

If anyone has infos about the other JR.s feel free to post them here and I’ll edit my OG post.

How do you expect them to debut over 200 Jrs (Tokyo & Kansai included) in every 2 years, or even 4 years? They're not AKB48 (who need that many members because they have theater performances every day). They don't even hold handshakes for the sake of boosting sales.

And it's not like they don't have any works. They appear on TV every month, they have their own TV shows, have multiple concerts every year, have multiple stages every year, appear in multiple magazines every month, backdance for senpais etc. Their system is so much different from say, Kpop and we should never equate these Jrs to those trainees from Kpop or even other Japanese agencies. Unlike the other trainees, these Johnny's Jrs are constantly in the public eye.

That's why there are some Jrs who went acting only like Toma and Kazama, or stage only like Yara and Bunichi.

Oh I forgot. Kansai Jrs were on the cover of the latest TV Guide. These are the more popular/prominent ones. Let me see if I can find the scans and I'll just introduce them from there.

There's probably not gonna be another Kansai Jrs debut in at least 5 years since the last debut was Johnny's WEST, but fyi, Kinpuri's Hirano Sho and Nagase Ren are from Kansai Jrs.

I got that too though it could just be wishful thinking on our part lol

I was wondering about that when I read that. Hirano is from Nagoya so I kinda get it but Nagase was born in Tokyo. Did he grow up in the Kansai area?

Speaking of Kansai Juniors, here's PON's recent segment on them:
