A concise history of Chocolat: KPOP's first and only multi-racial girl group

2011

- The group, made up of 3 half-Korean and 2 fully Korean members debuted with Syndrome. The members didn't actually like the song, which was chosen over a more "disco/dance" style one.

- Due to a personal conflict with the company, Jaeyoon, the main vocalist of the group left/was shown the door out. Part of the agreement was to never talk about the (seedy) reasons behind it. A rumor circulated that she had cancer, swine flu, or had a car accident.

- The now 4-member Chocolat cameback with a new single "I Like It". They also performed a medley of Hush Hush during live performances.

- Chocolat's first single album was released which included Syndrome and a few other songs.

2012

- After obtaining some hype for being a multiracial group, this year was a big downturn in terms of popularity. Not much activity occurred except a few sponsorship deals, and Tia becoming a model for a cosmetics brand.

- They released their second single album and track, One More Day. It was considered more impressive than Syndrome, but due to the company's lack of promotional resources it did worse than their first single.

- Melanie interviewed Ludacris.

- A long period of downtime began until late spring of next year.

2013

- Lori was being prepared to be the new member of Chocolat, but apparently she wasn't ready yet and only cameo'd in Chocolat's next MV.

- The third and final single album "Black Tinkerbell" was released. The company had high hopes for it to do well but instead it did poorly in sales.

- Chocolat, including Lori, participated in a few events and gigs. They were putting up a good face but something was breaking apart behind the scenes.

- Due to severe financial problems, Chocolat members were asked to sacrifice more (very few know exactly what), and this did not bode well with Lori and Melanie who began to rebel from their responsibilities in Chocolat.

- Their company agreed to secretly disband Chocolat, but demanded immediate payment on their debts, which caused further tension.

2014

- The remaining active members of Chocolat, Min Soa, Juliane and Tia, agreed to continue working for their company. While Melanie and Lori decided to end communication with them so they wouldn't be asked for money.

- The company is currently in the process of restructuring their finances and hope to keep Tia active for some future projects.

Damn, I didn't know they disbanded in crap. Just hope they keep Tia. She's the only one I really cared about after the main vocalist left.

f(x) isn't multiracial?  :derp: ...because only white and asian are considered races?

Omfg you people. Chinese and Korean are different races. Can a Korean be racist toward a Japanese? Yes they can. And they certainly don't consider themselves the same. ''Asian'' isn't necessarily a race.

fx wouldn't really be considered a multiracial group because they only have 2 races in their group. multiracial is having many races represented and chocolat is a good example.

i don't know if all that's true but i do feel bad for chocolat. not everyone can make it sadly :(

.................

Ethnicity =/= race. Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, South African. Ethnicities. White, asian, black, native american, latino, slavic, arabic, indian (the racial group). Those are different racial groups, most people only consider White, Asian, Black and Native American as races.

Even racist is a term when people are racist towards a race, like Blacks, Asians, Latinos, Whites.... what you're saying is called prejudice based on stereotyping, it's not racism because it's an ethnical group, not a race. Reading your post I'm actually not sure if you're serious or just kidding..
