[Review] "Switch - Change The World" Episodes 15-16

In episode fifteen, we see Do-chan swagger in with a nice suit, completely in his element as the guy who is always running a con, to the point he'll even say so directly. Then, in episode sixteen, we see Tae-woong walk down the stairs in a typically loud brightly colored outfit, knowing full well that everyone takes orders from him and that's what matters. Here are two very different, yet equally effective ways of running a room.

Anyway, as far as the actual plot goes, Tae-woong has come up with a new evil scheme that he is reasonably sure can't be traced back to him. The implications are obvious enough. I liked how Ha-ra quickly catches on to the suspicious circumstances of the suicide. Whether Do-chan was actually surprised at Ha-ra's deductions or if he was just playing dumb is unclear. That's the problem with a drama that's conceptually all about retroactive plot twists. It's hard to tell how ignorant anyone actually is at any given moment.

The con artist setpieces are strong enough. The whole bit where Do-chan pretends to be a doctor is brilliant. The performance is a perfect combination of faux intellectualism, cold reading, and Do-chan abusing information he already has access to. The plan goes so well that the turnabout is legitimately surprising. Do-chan and Tae-woong are both fundamentally arrogant men, so they always win or lose at a perceived high point.

In general Jung Woong-in tends to play really good villains. They're always evil guys, but they're smart enough not to be too obvious about it. I love how Tae-woong's games of Chinese Chess with Do-chan play out more like poker than they do anything to do with the actual rules of Chinese Chess, because that's really what they are. It's just an excuse for Tae-woong and Do-chan to eye each other for possible weaknesses, and both men are fully aware of this.

This last fact is a bit apropos of nothing, but I should note that the reason I refer to Mister Ppeong by that name is because he sells "ppeong", which is the Korean word for beer nuts, which are commonly eaten with fried chicken, and Ha-ra's mom runs a fried chicken restaurant. It's odd how that specific subplot sticks in my memory. Joon-soo's big confrontation at the cliffhanger should really command a lot more attention. The possible twists in that case are just easier to telegraph is all.

Baek Joon Soo is blunt, and Sado-chan is an avid. There is interesting to compare them. You can catch a glimpse of acting, such as a totally different in look, tone, and gesture.
The versatile career of Jang Keun Suk is singer, planner, MC, DJ and actor... He debuted in 1993 as a child model.

Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching??

DbN9fJ4UMAAH0Un.jpg

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Switch: Funny Jang Geun-seok, I missed you! Though Sa Do-chan isn’t as wacky as Hwang Tae-kyung, there’s enough goofing around when he’s pulling a con with or on Oh Ha-ra. There’s also another Jang Geun-seok character in a coma, but I haven’t met him yet. He sounds like a stuffy character. I’m already anticipating Sa Do-chan playing with him too. Overall, this show reminds me of the first season of Mystery Queen where the “genius†cases aren’t terribly smart, but you watch anyway for the chemistry between the characters.

K-DRAMA SWINDLERS WHO WOULD BLUFF THEIR WAY INTO OUR HEARTS

Gone are the days when con artists were simple unscrupulous villains who would screw anyone over for a buck. Recent K-dramas have shone the spotlight on swindlers as protagonists, many of whom fight the baddies better than some good guys do. Read on to find out which of them have us wholeheartedly fooled!

Jang Geun Suk (Switch - Change the World)

Who is he? Sa Do Chan, the doppelganger of no-nonsense prosecutor Baek Jun Su. When the latter falls into a coma following a car accident, his colleague Oh Ha Ra (Han Ye Ri) recruits Do Chan to step in as his double. With the help of his loyal crew, Do Chan takes on the bad guys and serves justice to those whoslips through the cracks of the legal system.

Biggest heist? We're still getting to know the guy, but so far, we've seen him pull of a pretty neat job of scamming the prosecutors.

FTISLAND Lee Hong Gi Sings the Original Sound Track of 'SWITCH'

K-pop boy group FTISLAND's member Lee Hong Gi has participated in singing one of the original sound tracks of SBS' drama 'SWITCH'.

According to the production crew of 'SWITCH' on April 24, Lee Hong Gi has sung 'Raise Me Up' for 'SWITCH'.
As the last time he has sung an original sound track was for SBS' drama 'Modern Farmer' back in 2014, many are excited to hear the news.

'Raise Me Up' is a British pop genre that has a sentimental melody and lyrics, wrapped with Lee Hong Gi's deep, emotional and sorrowful voice.

The song intends to express the sad emotions of the main character Sa Do-chan (Jang Keun Suk) as opposed to the bright side of him which he usually shows.

'Raise Me Up' will be available via Melon, Genie, Naver Music, and other domestic music streaming sites from 6PM KST on April 25.

Han Ye Ri Passionately Participates in Her Drama 'SWITCH'

Actress Han Ye Ri is reported to perfectly act out her character Oh Ha-ra from her latest drama 'SWITCH'.
In recent days, Han Ye Ri is acting out an eager, righteous prosecutor named Oh Ha-ra from SBS' 'SWITCH'.

Unlike most female protagonists of Korean Dramas, Oh Ha-ra is distinctively an independent, strong, and determined character.
Her wild way of arresting the suspect in a subway with various action scenes, for instance, has mesmerized the viewers of 'SWITCH'.
Moreover, the chemistry of characters from 'SWITCH' further heightens Oh Ha-ra's irresistible charms.

Actor Jang Keun Suk, who skillfully leads the drama by playing two different male protagonists named Sa Do-chan and Paik Jun-su, builds great teamwork with Han Ye Ri.

201175096_1280.jpg&key=740c7f824558bea24

On top of the friendly atmosphere of the drama's filming site, the collaboration of Oh Ha-ra and Jang Keun Suk's character Sa Do-chan marks them to be the best duo.

Although Oh Ha-ra is known to be the righteous prosecutor, her collaboration with the con artist Sa Do- chan gives another image of her character and adds more dimensions to her identity.

The recent episode of 'SWITCH' in which Oh Ha-ra looks for the relationship of Sa Do-chan, his father Sa Ma-cheon, and the villain Keum Tae-woong with various methods absolutely gives more tension to the plot.

The staffs of 'SWITCH' noted, "She is the professional actress who deliberately acts out her character."

They continued, "In every scene of our drama, Han Ye Ri has passionately committed herself to play out her character. Please check out the upcoming episodes."
