SNSD's impact - words of wisdom by NessieW

"After much reflection of my recent SNSD 4D post, “Into the New World is again used at another political march. I was wrong and shortsighted. SNSD has already ascended out of the 4D existence into the 5th dimension.

Another recent example would be how successfully effective they are used by the SK military as a weapon against NK citizens. Although other Kpop artists’ music are also blasted across the DMZ, SNSD impact is matchless because with SNSD, it is more than just their music and dance. Defectors, soldiers and non soldiers attest that SNSD is embraced in N.Korea as the representative KOREAN girl group, beloved not just as Kpop entertainers but more for how SNSD embodies the pride of a unified Korea where no enemy exists.

SNSD Seohyun’s selection among all other SK singers and her acceptance by NK to perform with their premiere singers and musicians at the recent Winter Olympics to promote unification, further proves how treasured SNSD is to Koreans. The embracing of SNSD by citizens on either side of the DMZ may be the first step towards the journey toward peace in a conflict that has lasted 68 years, almost 4 generations.

Years before SNSD’s debut song became an anthem of change in SK, they were already equated to other cultural icons like kimchi, foretelling SNSD capability to rise to a 5th dimension.

SNSD’s reach has grown beyond their Kpop entertainment value. Their mutualistic influence, not just their workplace accomplishments, has transcended into culture, politics and successful bloodless military tactics. SNSD’s impact is recognized by the world for this, catapulting them from being mere Kpop luminaries into LIVING legends of Korean history, a 5D phenomenon.

Non fans use the word “legend†loosely to characterize their bias but has their bias or any other SK or world renowned entertainer ever achieved the impact of SNSD at this level? I don’t think so. What makes their 5D attainment even more extraordinary is that SNSD became living legends while all under the age of 30?

Does anyone else have other examples of SNSD 5D presence? Please share".

This was posted on SNSD's thread, but I think other people outside the fandom should or could read this. I got permission to post it from NessieW

Yall do too much lol

But for the most past YAS there has never been a gg like SNSD. These kids think having a few cute hits and mediaplay articles puts them with SNSD like... lol. It's like comparing Ariana Grande to Beyonce

this is why it doesn't sit well with me when people try to compare their favourite groups to snsd. let your group forge their own legacy, they're not going to be a carbon copy of this one, it just can't be done. and maybe that's actually for the best: snsd proves that you can, even as an idol group, forge a lasting historical impression. but regardless, all groups are going to have to do it on their own terms - this right here can't be parroted

No one care about SNSD in 2018.

No one care about mariah carey, michael jackson or withney houston in 2018, not if you compared them to new generation like ariana, justin bieber, taylor swift. But it doesn't mean that mariah/MJ/whitney is not a legend. The same goes to SNSD...

Or similar case for Hyori... or Sunmi Wonder Girls... or Suzy of Miss A.

It is literally about Seohyun. And she being there as soloist.

Have you monitored 3gen ggs and their agencies? They care. SNSD is their gold standard, role models. It is a fact that SNSD songs and dance routines are used to train these idols, to weed out the under performers. Ask yourself what trendy kpop group hasn’t performed an SNSD song or dance? Your answer will reveal how shallow your statement is. SNSD influence is deeper than what unsophisticated kpop fans see, blinded by the hype of trendy groups.

When 3gen groups want to grow beyond the 1st dimension of being kpop idols, they’ll need to expand and improve their talent and skills. SNSD has shown them that doing so paves the road to longevity.

3gen ggs right now are saturating the kpop market, all fighting to get that ever shrinking market share and recognition. SNSD no longer has to compete in that vicious arena. Their SONE and individual fandoms will keep keep them in fancy cars and homes, designer clothes and well fed. This is what kpop idols aspire to, like your bias.

What is amazing is that even if SNSD is dormant as a group for years, making naive people think no one cares about them, once SNSD makes a return to the kpop scene, SONE, the South and North Korean public who know their cultural impact, and especially SNSD antis, will be giving them recognition that will rival any trendy gg. Look back 10 years, it happens every time they make a comeback because each member of SNSD in their solo work (as singers, dancers, actresses, DJs, cf promoters and announcers, variety personalities, song writers and lyricist, philanthropist) always reminds the public they are still SNSD.

Btw, thanks for showing you care enough about SNSD to add your opinion to this thread. If my reply to you is tldr, it’s okay others will read it.
