When female idols in particular hit their mid 20s they're already seen as "old" when in many other industries that's still young. It helps that Taeyeon doesn't age pretty much in all entertainment industries, there's a really short span for a career. modelling, skating, singing, ballet - an acting career can be done "right" if the person didn't get stuck on a certain type of character (of course, that goes along with the amount of talent they have). other industries, "regular" indjstries, don't have that because one studies years for that and most of the times people think the older you are, the better (for the "experience"). Gilraen92 9,334 Posted March 10, 2018 Share Posted March 10, 2018 I get that kpop idol industry is targeted to young people so the idols themselves are supposed to be young people, but sometimes they're exaggerated calling idols even in their mid 20s ahjummas/ahjusshis. Luckily, Taeyeon has managed to establish herself as an artist, independent of the kpop idol image so I don't think her age will be a problem.
