kpop companies really do the bare minimum with Japanese releases

Nothing will ever top BB’s Made Jpn album though. Literally just 3 jpn versions of previous songs and everything else the original Korean versions.

it's so lazy.

gone are the days of thsk, boa et al who actually try with original releases. kpop can stay dead in a ditch in Japan.

most fans want japanese versions of their fave songs tho, its what sells well too.

The thing that usually is the bare minimum with japanese releases is the mv's tho.. they always be the target version of the gucci korean ver. gotta wait and see what big hit do this time tho i guess.

BST Japanese version had a gorgeous MV IMO, I loved that one. So trippy. The Mic Drop video was more a two for one thing lol that's true.

Intro: Ringwanderung - wtf is this random German? Is this a hint at a European tour??

Do Japanese fans actually want this? Pronunciation is normally terrible, lyrics are normally super cheesy or just awful, and the flow is never as good as the original.

Some groups are ‘lazy’ with the first album and then do more original tracks later on. In some cases original Japanese tracks get Korean versions.

Or, ironically, 2009-2010 Big Bang.

Of the groups I follow, only Shinee tries with Japanese versions. Twice seems to be trending that way also but it's still too early to tell.

Judging from yt comments (not the best source, I know) some of them are happy to have a Japanese version, others are embarrassed by the cheesy lyrics and prefer the Korean version.

i felt this with some of shinee's old releases too but eversince last year or a couple years before, they've been making more effort especially with the mvs and music quality. shinee's five album and get the treasure pv as well as taemin's sayonara hitori and flame of love. at least they don't promote jpn ver of kr music that much anymore.

shinee's been doing completely original releases especially title track for awhile now with only few jpn remakes of kr stuff as b-sides.

The thing abt BTS is that they have so many fans that will eat up any shit they put out. That's why their company or Japanese management seem lazy and doesn't bother to try in regards to their Japanese releases. BTS reputation of having high sales and huge fandom is pretty much guaranteed at this point, therefore, their management couldn't care less about investing more on original quality releases. Doing a half-assed Japanese ver. with cheesy lyrics is a piece of cake and doesn't require much effort and basically they get the amount of profits double or triple the investment they put out. Basically taking the instant, easy and lazy way out to get those yens and bring them back home to Korea. If they keep this up, the group might get affected in the long run and it won't be good. I mean if I we're their Japanse fan, one day I'd get annoyed and pissed off too. It feels like we're being used by a Korean company.

Japanese fans are fans of kpop groups for their korean releases, not japanese ones.

I agree. I also think international fans don't invest in Japanese releases as much as korean ones. So basically korean+ intl+ japanese fans buy the korean ones and mostly hardcore or Japanese fans buy the japan releases

I'm pretty sure the OP was referring to KPOP Japanese releases in general stating "KPOP Companies" in the title, BTS just happens to be next in line so....this rant is a unwarranted for sure.

LMAO this shade

hmmm... I don't think you understand my reference.
