Came back from a European trip.

I spent almost 2 months in Europe and I loved it! I reconnected with some old friends of mine. I met relatives whom I have never seen in my life before and it was just an amazing trip! I felt like a true tourist and I also experienced quite a lot of reverse culture shock. I haven't been in PL in over a decade. I went to Warsaw, Cracow, Wieliczka, Oswiecim, Prague, Budapest, London, St.Petersburg, Moscow, Villnus and Berlin. It definitely was not a cheap trip and it cost me quite a lot of $ but it was totally worth it. I also have met someone and we hit it off instantly. I have never left such a connection with someone so quickly, it seemed like we know each other for ages. Everything was just perfect, the weather really didn't bother me. The only thing that was hard to get used to was the time difference. OMG I had so many sleepless nights. I think I haven't slept through the night for like 2 weeks. It wasn't until I bought some melatonin that I truly got some sleep at night. When everyone was waking up at like 9-10 am I was extremely tired and sleepy by that time.  The flights was also horrendous! Its just so long! The flight back was an absolute disaster with turbulence throughout the whole flights for 10 hours straight.

I will probably never permanently relocate back to the motherland but I will definitely be going back there in the summer cause the Baltic Sea cities are incredible!

Agh, love to have a lil' paradise that you know you can go when your country, city, weekly life is a big trashcan laugh.png, so you know that at the end of year or so you'll have another reality to inmerse to dave.png; those places sound dreamy

i hope I won't see you crying about Europe being on the edge of self-destruction now in the News forum.

I had an amazing time and European hospitality is amazing. I can totally see as to why people chose to migrate to other European countries in search of new opportunities and a better life. From my POV I actually don't understand why some of the young adults chose to stay in their home cities rather than move somewhere else, and this applies to people who live in small towns and in larger cities. In PL even if you live in large city like Warsaw or Cracow the salary isn't that good tbh and you can't do much with what you get.

I actually was surprised at how many foreigners I met in Cracow, there's a huge Asian community of students there. I met a lot of Chinese and Japanese students there.

Did you see Krystal Jung? She's touring rn

I went only in Prague :(

Don't care about her tbh. So I don't care where she is.

I felt so out of place, and like a complete stranger. What I yearned for is to talk to someone in English without relatives butting in and asking about everything, and I'm being completely honest here. I have forgotten a lot of my native tongue and I had to stop and think of words to properly express myself in Polish. It was just a mess. It took me like 2 weeks to fully get accustomed to everything and it was still weird and I stood out from others unintentionally. I had fun though, and next time I'll go to Europe I'll probably end up going over the summer because of Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini, the TriCity in Poland and Dubrovnik. Also what was fun for me was the fact that pretty much no one from my relatives knew that I'm coming over for a visit. They literally found out the day of my arrival, some of them found out a week into me already being there.

It was an interesting experience from the transnational perspective cause here I am a naturalized American citizen of Polish heritage going back to his native country after a decade of not being there. I left weird, out of place and simply awkward in some moments and i wanted to hide my head in the sand in certain situations.
