For physical albums, is there a feature of the album that makes you buy it?

  1. 1. Do you buy physical albums?

If you do buy physical albums, its it because they're your favourite group? Collectable items? Photobook? Posters? The packaging? Or something else?

For me, i buy the albums mainly to support a group i like and because i like the music. The other stuff that comes with the album is just an added extra. I don't trade pc's or anything, i just think they look pretty on my shelf.

Although saying this shipping costs so much i usually wait until i have a few to buy so it brings the cost down a bit.

My car has a CD player and no aux cable so the CDs are useful, I like to support my artist and I kinda consider albums a piece of merch so it’s nice to have cute pics and pcs of my fav artists

Because I want to support the group that put it out. Some things might make me buy more copies (multiple versions that I actually want), but even SM's shitty CD cases won't stop me from buying in the first place.

edit: I guess 'same' lol

RV's packaging deserves so much better

I love RR's packaging the most, but Rookie's the fanciest we've ever gotten

although same~

but i usually buy the albums so my sister has a higher chance of collecting all the members' photocards and such.

(an then trading when she has doubles... it's tough)

but still the more physical albums are bought the better chance of it being supported towards the artists is a great feeling.

The biggest thing for me, other than them having to be a group I really like, is the outward packaging.

Best packaging I've seen so far:
Fx's Pink Tape

BTS's Dark & Wild

"Book" form albums like Taeyeon's 'my voice'

Yeah, it's also the first album I've ever bought every version for and I wasn't even mad about it. Which is surprising because when I was learning about kpop I thought repackages and multiple versions were the dumbest idea and I'd never...

Funnily enough i don't think i've touched any of the CD's apart from one to download a CD only song. This kinda makes me want to take my CDs to my car just to get use out of them!

They should just switch from albums into some kind of fan packages since pretty much no one uses them for the music anyway tbh.

This is what i've been thinking. Even if the removed the CD and replaced it with a download code (which you pay for as part of the album obviously) and still have photobooks etc, i'm pretty sure people would still buy it regardless! I feel like albums are going to die a death in the near future

They should just put everything on a USB. Oh, wait... unsure.png

honestly with how much the shipping costs I only buy the physicals of my bias group and svt have had really nice albums so far (besides 17 carat...) I won't buy an album if the physical isn't appealing it's just honestly not worth me spending like $50+
