If Skip Beat had a live-action adaptation, who would you cast?

My cast would be:

 

Kyoko = Hirose Suzu? 

 

 

Or Nana Komatsu?

 

 

I find it hard to pick someone from a close age group tbh.

 

Ren = Mackenyu

 

Sho = Yamazaki Kento

 

Kanae = Araki Yuko

 

Yashiro = Takahashi Issei

 

Reino = Suda Masaki

Face-wise he doesn't look like Reino to me, but I think he could totally pull off this role.

 

 

Lory = Higashiyama Noriyuki

 

Jelly Woods = Ishihara Satomi

I Can see Rem from Mackenyu but I can’t see Sho from Yamaken. Sho fits Kentaro Sekaguchi more for me. Haruma Miura or Masaki Okada for Ren as they have more a mature vibes and still looks young while Mackenyu has the maturity aura but has a bit of a baby face. I think Nana Komatsu has the face for Kyoko but Suzu has the acting.

I think Ketnaro would do well too. And I can see Ren from Okada Masaki and Haruma Miura, but they're a bit too old now imo. 

 

I tried picking actors who are not too far from character's real ages, so I set myself a limit of 25 y.o. for Kyoko, Ren, Sho, Kanae, etc. I did pick someone much older for Yashiro though, but I just always felt that he has Yashiro vibe, so I couldn't resist.

 

Interestingly thought that Suzu has the face for Kyoko, but Nana has the acting.   But I guess it depends on which dramas/movies we've seen. 'Cause it's not like I think that Suzu is a bad actress, I just didn't see enough of her to feel like she has the range as opposed to my experience with Nana. But somehow I always felt like Suzu's face resembled my inner image of Kyoko.

I chose pics to express Kyoko's different sides. Nobody has any doubts that Suzu is pretty. 

 

 

 

And I think she looks cute in that kimono pic.

To each there own I guess. But we can agree on Suzu since she has better acting than Nana.

Visually he fits Ren as well, tall and good-looking..

 

As for Kyoko, I think someone who has amazing acting skill like Sugisaki Hana or Matsuoka Mayu. Although I think Suzu is fine too.

I found that while there are plenty of male actors I know, all my female faves are over 25, so Kyoko casting was hard. I think there are probably better picks than that.

Sugisaki Hana was last year's Best Supporting Actress in Japan Academy Awards. She's in the upcoming Bleach Movie as Rukia and the female lead in Hana Hare Nochi drama 

I totally recommend Mondai no Aru Restaurant if you're interested to see talented young actresses. Nikaido Fumi, Matsuoka Mayu and Takahata Mitsuki were on it and they're all awesome!
