Chinese Passengers Angrily Confront Foreigner Smoking a Cigarette in Beijing Train

A video showing a foreign man smoking on the Beijing Metro Line 2 subway and being confronted by Chinese passengers is going viral on Chinese social media.

 

 

 

The 22-second clip, which was posted on Weibo on February 24 by user Jg_JiaWuJia, shows a very intoxicated man having an argument with the passengers of the subway train after lighting up a cigarette.

 

In the video, one of the passengers told the man, â€œF**k off back to your country, okay?†and as a response, the drunk foreigner said: â€œThis is our country.â€

 

Naturally, it only went downhill from there, as the transcript of the confrontation provided by Shanghaiist via Medium shows:

“Commuter: “Here is China!â€

Foreigner: “It’s called the Middle Kingdom!â€

Commuter: “Hey it’s China.â€

Foreigner: “IT’S CALLED THE MIDDLE KINGDOM!â€

Commuter: “F**k you face…†(?)

Foreigner: “You, f**k off! You f**k…â€

Commuter: “F**k you.â€

Foreigner: “F**k me? F**k you!â€

Another passenger reportedly approached the man and snatched the cigarette right out of his hand.

Shortly after taking the video, Weibo user Jia showed the clip to a staff at Fuxingmun stop, Daily Mail reported. Subway authorities quickly tried to settle the quarrel.

 

It is illegal to smoke while inside the subway train in China. Those who are caught smoking will face a fine between 50 yuan ($7.93) and up to 1000 yuan ($158.51), according to Regulation on Operation Safety of Metro Transport in Beijing.

I don't care . I only post things that I find interesting. Foreigners getting called out for shitty behaviour in China is something I've never heard of so it's just funny to me. Not my fault if western media has a hard-on for China at the moment and is psycho-analyzing every single thing Xi Jinping does so DerangedDogs can just post whatever clickbait/fearmongering article he finds on western media to push his anti-China/Chinese propaganda war. Not hard to find an anti-China/Chinese article on American media. Not hard at all. If this was a battle, I'd just look up bad articles about America (government, people) that paints it in a bad light and there's plenty of them. But then DerangedDogs would probably start crying so I'm not going to do that .  

 

DerangedDogs sees this as a war. I don't. But he made me interested in China again and instead of feeling ashamed, he's made me feel proud of my ethnicity because it made me realize that people like him are really just hateful, racist people.

I really dislike people who smoke in enclosed public spaces. It's so thoughtless and selfish because there isn't enough ventilation (no windows that open) and people are forced to breathe in his secondhand smoke.
