So is the CLC comeback doing anything good for them?

I see the views are almost on Hobgoblin level + they have pretty good Hanteo sales compared to the last releases and that's a improvement but the digital charting is still not existing

So in your opinion how is the comeback doing so far?

The concept fits them well I just didn't care for the song.

CLC is also a group that hasn't found their sound yet so it's difficult to grow a fanbase. As a fan you already know what to expect from groups like twice, gf, blackpink, red velvet, wjsn, oh my girl which is why there's are growing

I mean it's a lot better then their last comeback so this is definitely the right concept. But the song isn't as great and it's lacking that hyuna magic that was present wit hobgoblin

people called the 4minute copycats/rejects when they asked for hyuna's input on hobgoblin, so im screaming now to see it being called "magic".

,,,

OP im not sure if you are aware of this, but your threads come off shady and kind of obnoxious.

I hope this release will help them grow their overall fanbase

The title track is just way too good

I even ordered the album despite being short on money

i agree with all of this

this concept suits them much better than other things they've tried before imo, but it still lacks some fine-tuning

their b-sides are really good tho, i think they're on the right track

Oh exactly what I thought but I couldn't word properly

A group can have various concepts but a distinctive sound is important for people to identify them, CLC not only changes concept all the time but their music is always so different from each other too, like I can barely link one song to the other and it was also the same thing with 4minute.

I hope CLC will get more popular, they are so great, the only one to blame is their company for being bad at promoting them.

Hey if people hate on it they're doing something right. It was by far their most popular song. Plus it's not like i ever said this. Concept wise black dress and nono were too bland, stylized in a classic and expected ways. Hobgoblin is less "meta".

Tbh, I think Cube just needs to send them to more variety. No matter what songs they release, I feel like CLC is always someone second choice group, as in people like them but they wouldn't spend money to stan them. To do so, CLC just need more media exposure to show everyone how hilarious and talented they are, and really build that strong fanbase. What's On Cube content is hilarious, but I really don't think non-CLC stans would seek out to it. I feel like What's On Cube is catering to those who are already a die-hard fan who would buy everything, but Cube really needs to start thinking of strategies to reach out to non-stans to help increase sales.

Overall, I really loved the comeback. The song is great, the girls are confident (Versace QUEENS) on stage, and I loooooove all the B-sides. Sales improved and I'm very happy for them. But I still hope they can get a big break like my comeback kings NU'EST <3

last time they were compared heavily to 4Minute and they got a lot of hate

I know it's Hyuna's touch (and I love songs touched by Hyuna) but the backlash during Hobgoblin was also strong

Let them have their girl crush concept that is CLC-ish or else people will compare them again. It's better be like this instead

But Cube can't rely on the "Hyuna magic". Cube artists should be established on their own behalf and not because people link their comebacks to Hyuna. This doesn't do anybody a favour in the long term.

CLC, sadly, is just another example of Cube's bad promotion/management skills and I feel super sorry for them. It looks like Cube didn't even make an effort to build up each member's popularity individually. CLC offers so much potential but Cube doesn't know how to make use of it somehow.

For real! A small part of me hates that the girls would get so little sleep and be worked to the limit on shows like this, but at the same time, I know Produce 101 does wonders!!! I can see Seunghee and Elkie dominating vocals. Yeeun can probably laugh through all the girls in rap. Well, in my dreams that happened LOL rlytearpls.png

My favorite comeback from them was Where Are You? and this is nothing like that release, but I also don't feel like that song fit them as a group. Personally I thought they had something working for them with their initial sound, I thought that Pepe, Like, High Heels, and No Oh No were consistent and had something about them that linked together well enough. Then they came out with Hobgoblin so I figured they decided to change their image, but then Where Are You? came out and I LOVED that song, but it's a song I would've given to a different group with a softer image (I never saw CLC as being a particularly soft group, they were cute and bright at first and then changed to a stronger image... the random feminine soft concept and slight vaporwave/r&b sound feels out of place for me).

I don't much care for Black Dress as a song, but if this is the concept they're choosing to work with it may take a couple more similar releases for people to start looking their way. If they went from Hobgoblin straight to Black Dress then it'd be more consistent. That all being said, the entertainment industry is fickle and the competition is fierce, so they could still do everything right and still not reach whatever level of success they're shooting for.
