[TW - just in case] Premonition of a loved one's death

Is it possible? And if so, has it ever happened to you?

In about one week, it'll be 7 years since my dad passed away. Whenever it's close to his death anniversary, I can't help but think back a lot to that day when he had left us. Today, I was just recalling that particular day and the hours leading to his death. He passed away on a Sunday evening and on that day, everything had seemed fine. Now when I look back, I recall myself being extra clingy towards him, hugging him, holding on to his arm and sitting on his lap. I remember hearing a close church friend talking to him, telling him how he looks quite tired. I knew that he had a pre-existing heart condition, having suffered a heart attack nearly a decade earlier but didn't really think much of it then since he seemed quite healthy then and just held onto him. That afternoon, he wanted us all to head out to play badminton with another family we knew from church. I refused to go. I really didn't want us to go at all. My dad gave in and was going to go out to cycle instead. But I had a sudden change of mind and told him that we should go play badminton together instead. After a game or two, it was when I knew that I'll never have my warm cuddles with him again. Although I felt a little comforted that his last moments were spent doing something fun with the family.

Thinking back, I feel like I might have unconsciously sensed something. The whole day, I just wanted to be around him, holding him or have him hugging me. And I've also realized that I only became a lot more affectionate with him just a couple months before he passed. Also the fact that when he decided to go cycling and I changed my mind, was another sense of foreboding? Is it possible that I might have some sort of premonition? I don't know, maybe I did.. I just feel very weird about it now since I'm a lot older.

Oh wow, that sounds really scary, but I'm glad you to to spend a lot of time with him before he passed. I guess something we just have a feeling that something will happen, but it's so subconscious that we don't acknowledge it until it's "too late".

I think it is possible since I personally experience it.

It happened last year. The very last visit to the hospital to visit my paternal grandma.. I somehow have the feeling that it will be the last time that I will see her alive again. And it turned out to be the truth. She passed away 2 days later when I was heading down to visit her again. :/

And Cajun, I didn't know about this even though we used to talk a lot in the past. I am sorry for your loss. Stay safe in Canada okay?

This happened to me in 2016 following my bestfriend's death. We always hung out outside of school/work so we rarely texted each other or called, but the night before she passed away, I called her and we talked until we fell asleep. We both opened up about what we were going through and just had a very soft night altogether. I don't know what specifically made me call her, but I guess I'd felt uneasy that night? It was pretty late as well.

Sorry to hear about your loss too. Everything's fine now and in fact I feel more comforted knowing that I was able to spend more time with him rlytearpls.png

Yep. Do visit the Discord more often. I guess I do feel slightly okay now since there is a certain person in Discord who give me strength everytime I see her lol
