Why do you think Twice failed to build bigger male fandom in Japan?

Twice is famous even in pann for having huge male fandom in SK.

In Japan, I am not saying they don't have male fans, but on many occasion it is clear that majority of their fans are female, on 1 survey we can see it's female is 66% and middle or high school female students (61%).

Why do you think is that? Do you think JYP should cater more for male fandom in Japan?

On last year survey, Twice made it to top most popular idol in Japan.

Bc most people that are into kpop in Japan are females in general bc of the fashionable aspect of it. Kara, SNSD, Apink etc all got large female fanbase in their Japanese events. Same reason why kpop boy groups can sell CDs there despite being niche

Twice constantly gets clowned for having so many uncle fans but now it’s an issue that they don’t have enough male fans in Japan.

This is from September 2017, popularity ranking of girl groups, TWICE was still very new, things change. in the end of December 2017, Line did another survery about which group do you look forward the most for Kouhaku:

As you can see TWICE is the only girl group to appear on both male and female list. They are higher for female fans but still good for male fans. I think they have a perfect balance of female/male fans tbh and I mean their fandom all over the world, not just in Japan. in Korea they have both fangirls and fanboys with a bit more fanboys, in Japan they also have both but with a bit more fangirls, and internationally they also have both but it seems a bit more fangirls. so there's nothing wrong and it's a total reach to say that they "failed" to get japanese fanboys, it's not the case at all. You can also see by age:

TWICE is on the list for:

Female fans in their 10's, 20's, 30's, 40's

Male fans in their 10's, 20's

and they are ranked pretty high among 10's-20's of male and female.

They have a perfect balance of fandom in gender and age.

I love a group that attracts both sexes.

Same. I understand that female fans are supposed to be "better" financially, but fanboys are so cute chuplz.png

So we question the lack of both genders? because one second its bad to have a lot of fanboys, and the next its a failure to not have a big male fandom?

you cant keep changing the narrative, it just proves that TWICE is loved by everyone regardless of their gender.

actually twice have quite a large male fandom for a kpop group in japan post hallyu wave....since kpop has become a niche its consumer and target audience has become mostly young women. even with non-twice japanese kpop stans, twice is known for having a lot of male fans that originally werent interested in kpop.
