I didn't even have my laptop out of my bag yet, so he must've been waiting for me. Him: Hey Annie, got a minute? Me: Sure, what's up? Him: You're about my daughter's age... Me, thinking: YOUR DAUGHTER IS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND I HATE YOU FOR THIS Me: Uhh, ok? Him: She's into these Korean boys. BTS. (he says *hard* BEEEE TEEEE ESSSS, but I guess points for getting the name right?) Do you know them? Me: Uh...*glance down at phone to make sure no album art is showing*Me: Yeah. Um. BTS? Uh.. yeah. I think I've heard of them. I think my sister is into them.Him: What's their deal? Is this something I should be concerned about?Me, thinking: THAT BITCH IS DOOMEDMe: Their deal? Was she into One Direction? I think it's like that, only they're Asian.Him: Oh. Do they have CDs?Me: I mean... probably? I don't knowHim: Ok, thanks.So, that's it. I've only been asked about Kpop once in my life.Friend (who knows I like a Korean group but doesn't know their name nor has asked me about Kpop before): Hey I saw some Korean boy group on the New Years thing.Me: YeahFriend: Yeah I don't remember their name, is it that group you're into? Me: No it's a completely different group called BTS. I like EXO. Friend: Ah okay, was wondering if it was your group. Then she started talking about something else. I never really got into boy groups or listened to that much pop music prior to kpop so I have a limited selection to choose from. Kinda weird how he’d call you so randomly to ask about kpop. Hmm why u of all people? Did he ask other girls too? I'm the only one in the office (our boss is female, but she's older than he is) and I'm also (half) asian?
