For schools outside the US, do you have code red / lockdown drills, too?

I assume all schools have fire drills, and if you're in an earthquake-prone area, you'll have earthquake drills as well.

But I'm curious to know if schools outside the US also have code red drills or drills for situations where there is suspicious or armed person on campus? Or is that mostly an American thing?

And for those in the US and are still at school, it's been a while since I graduated so has Code Red drills changed in the past few years? When I was in school, Code Red drills involved locking the classroom doors, turning off the light and using half the desks and backpacks to block the door and half to build a barrier for classmates in one corner of the room.

We also pushed the cabinets and teacher's desk to the door as well.

Anything heavy.

We also had a huge trashcan full of food for earthquake drills, that also went to the door.

My janitor also went door to door checking if the teacher locked the door by really trying to open the door by trying to get it open. I guess stimulation?
