This needs to be clarified. Thank God Plan A responded in time because this is stupid and ridiculous. I have never been so angry at how people can just out right JUDGE her for no reason.

Plan A responds to both the cell phone and cigarette controversy in Na-Eun's Instagram photo

Plan A Entertainment spoke up on Na-Eun's Instagram controversy.

Na-Eun is currently attending New York Fashion Week. She had recently uploaded and then deleted a set of photos that show her eating at a restaurant. Netizens guessed it was either because she was getting attacked because of the 'feminist' message on her phone case, or because of the cigarettes visible in one of the photos.

Her label said, "[The phone case] is a 'Zadic & Voltaire' gift she received at an event in America. She just uploaded photos from her day, and didn't know it would gain so much attention. We are also surprised and flustered. The cigarettes on the table belong to the staff that is with her in America."

Hopefully that calms things down.

I can understand the cigarette controversy because from what i've understood it's kinda illegal to smoke in Korea and they are not as open about it as we are in the West (for example they don't really smoke in public..) so it's just a question of cultural mentality (i don't know how to say it?).

But the phone case... even if it wasn't a gift, being a feminist is not a shame! They should be proud... I don't understand how you can create a controversy around something that aims to the respect of women

So many people smoke in Korea lol

it's not because it's common that it's legal... prostitution is common, smoking cannabis is common but in most countries it's still not legal.

I just did my researches and it's forbidden to smoke in public transports, public buildings  etc... and in some places and you can have a fine if you smoke here. And since 2013 the legislation is stricter and they are trying to forbid to smoke in your own apartment.... So it confirms what I said

I knew that picture would become scandalous the moment I saw it

The thing with feminist message is a gift from the fashion brand which invited her to New York fashion week. I doubt She thought about the message.

Lets Cut the feminist crap. I can not stand the bs going on because of it.

She should have seeing the cigars then ask for the owner to take them out of the table. This is girl's power and she did not use it.

According to the agency the cigars belong to the company's manager who was there with her.

Dumb men bashing women for as much as saying something that even hints at women's rights is still a thing in Korea, but let's not criticize or ridicule it at all because it's a cultural thing! Great idea! And there's nothing feminist about that phone case which makes this whole thing even dumber..

if you don't know what i mean that let's leave it at that it's honestly really frustrating to explain how feminism is viewed in Korea and how internet anonimity helped them worsen the situations also i never said let's not criticize them the fuck? all i said is feminism is controversial in Korea it can't be helped half of the people in this site are extremely ignorant about how Korean views some important social activisms outside their country has been warped by their own kind in their home country
