Seven-year-old boy earns over $20,000 teaching yoga

A seven-year-old boy in China's Zhejiang province has earned more than 100,000 yuan (S$21,000) by teaching yoga. Sun Chuyang, or Mike, from Wenling in Taizhou city, started learning yoga when he was three years old. 

The boy was certified as a yoga instructor a year ago and became the youngest yoga teacher in China. Since then, he has trained more than 100 students.

​His mother said that Sun took the road to yoga as a way to fight autism. Sun was found suffering from slight autism after he was put in a daycare centre when he was two years old. To help heal him, his mother closed her apparel store and took him to practise yoga. At age three, Sun displayed a special gift in yoga and his condition improved after two years of practice. After he turned six, the boy started to teach fellow youngsters yoga at several local yoga centres.
