SquirrelGalaxy 281
Why dont idols wear glasses on stage? Almost everyone, male or female don't wear glasses on stage even those who have very bad eyesight and they wear lenses instead. I'm considering 3 possibilities but all of them aren't that strong so i want to ask about your opinion on this or other possibilities you might think of : 1. It's hard to dance with glasses. I dance a bit myself and it does feel annoying that my glasses almost fell everytime (or my stupid hands knocks them off). When i browse then net, the opinions varies from hard, possible with limitation, to not a problem at all. 2. Appearance At first i thought that idols dont feel confident using glasses because it feels dorky or some sort. But then i realize they wears glasses occasionally in public but when not dancing and they do looks good. Do you feel that they would look good with glasses on stage if there's no technical problem with their performance because of glasses? 3. Fitting to song's concept. If the 2 reason above was not really significant. I just thought maybe they need to take off glasses to fit the songs concept due to management or something. I'm not sure. What are your thoughts about this? Do you have any other logical reason behind this? Note : Yes, i have a somewhat glasses fetish :P
125628 3,659
they probably wear contacts or corrective eye surgery and yeah, i think glasses would get in the way of dancing and it might depend on the concept!

Gojo Satoru 1,098
Mostly #1 i think, also I'm not sure but maybe it also has something to do with the lights they use at events? I usually become blind whenever light shines on my glasses when I wear them lol I don't really know how to explain it!

If, by any chance, problem no. 1 can be solved, would the probability of them wearing it increases? Or will it fall down into no. 2?

As someone who uses both glasses and contact lenses I can safely say glasses are more comfortable.

mochi101 81
1 and 2. First off, it's very difficult to match glasses with outfits. A lot of idols also have to do this thing called 'quick-change' backstage, where they have to change their outfits at lightning speed for the next stage. It's a VERY hectic atmosphere and 1) their glasses would risked being stepped on, 2) glasses get in the way. Also, glasses have the tendency to fly off while they are performing. It's also considered somewhat unprofessional if you do that.
Krystal Oppa 121
Most common is it will get in the way and do not fit the concept. And I also think is, it will somehow hide their face which will be a problem. They need to be recognized.
