redheart 7,440 Posted February 10, 2018 Share Posted February 10, 2018 This was inspired by the Twice music thread I understand that everyone taste is different, but I feel like Got7's discography gets an excessive amount of hate and I feel like it's completely baseless Got7 has a lot of great b-sides, ranging from up beat hip hop bops, to mid tempo and downbeat/chill ballads with great vocals, I can understand the mix feelings towards their title tracks but then again which kpop group doesn't get mixed feeling towards their title tracks nowadays? JJ Projet Bounce, Verse 2, 7 for 7 and FL:D were pretty public friendly albums imo so I really don't understand why their discography gets so much hate? btw don't bother leaving hateful comments in here, I'll report it in a heart beat Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

katsu curry chips 7,808 Posted February 10, 2018 Share Posted February 10, 2018 i definitely don't hate their music. i give every new release by any group i come across a chance, even if it's a group i don't follow closely or like much. got7 is not my style but i do like a few of their songs. if i was to guess i'd say their diversity has somewhat worked against them? the marketing seemed neurotic, like they couldn't pin down what they were supposed to be. people sniffed that out and jumped on mocking the music and then *hating* it.. idk maybe that's just how it seemed to me tho. personally i'd say it's unfair to them because they're not bad at all. I really do not like when I see people jump on to hate them due to their titles, but when someone asks if they tried their b-sides, they say no and reiterate that they suck. But I also understand when someone says they gave their titles and b-sides a try and the music isn't their taste. That I have no problem with. Their music just isn't really my style. I don't hate it, but I wouldn't put it on my personal list either. The only song I listen to is Just Right. Of course, everyone has a right to like & dislike anyone's music, but I wish more people would actually listen to their albums and not judge their music from title tracks alone. GOT7 has many songs on their albums that are incredible and diverse in music style (a lot of those tracks created by the members themselves). They're top 5 kpop boygroups in the worlds among 3rdgen idols at least. Once they hit big in Korea, it's game over for others. I'll be glad to say then that I was present since Fly era. Although, I got into them by watching Just Right and If you do (Classics!) Oh, btw. Aghases here, please support Just Right on Youtube. It's already at 180M. They're gonna be the second boygroup from 2nd gen to get to 200M if that happens (or maybe 3rd if exo gets there first, doesn't really matter). I remember when that vid was struggling to get 60M. I love the members but so far they are one of the few boygroups which have not that song which makes me feel like "Man I really love this song". I like You are, If You Do, Confession Song, Just Right, A and Teenager. Like these are all nice songs, but I can't explain what it's missing. It doesn't make me want to listen to the songs on my phone. I love watching them on variety shows, and I like their MV's, but I cannot explain why I can't get fully into their songs.
