Chinese celebs seems really open about their relationships, were they always like that? And she's really beautiful, happy for him

Not really, mostly celebs that already established enough. Fans and media less obsessive? definitely yes.

But a lot of relationship is open relationship, everyone knows but never confirmed.

Like Fan Bing Bing first public relationship is with Lichen like after 18yrs in the industry (her fiance now) after dating him for awhile until confirmed they are dating in 2015 (no way she didn't date other ppl be4 him but everything just rejected as rumours, and she already date Lichen for sometimes be4 it confirmed. Ppl pretty much know already although they denied be4).

Look at zhao liying now, she is 30 but has not confirmed any relationship too (there is no way she has not date anyone).

Just tons of rumors. She is at her peak and way too popular now (her fans are still very hardcore). I guess we will wait few more yrs for that.

Probably not as closed off as Korean celebrities (although I've noticed in more recent years that the number of idol dating confirmations have increased). 

 

I think there's some element of secrecy, you won't see the kind of dating stories you'd see in western media like they're on again or off again etc. I think most actors and actresses won't confirm any dating rumours when they're starting to gain popularity however if they're a more established celebrity like Han Geng or Fan Bingbing and they're over the age of 30 (or approaching) then they might do it. They probably also consider the "star power" of the person they're dating too. For some celebs that have partners that aren't in the entertainment industry, they usually keep their relationship low key. 

 

Actually the Luhan/Guan Xiaotong relationship confirmation comes to me as a huge surprise because they're younger.

Nah, lots of younger idol type celebs were in publicly known relationships.

 

example:

Liu Haoran (my icon) was dating costar tang songyun when he was 17

Jing Boran and Nini - huge power couple

Zhang Rouyun and tiffany Tang

Fu Xinbo and Yinger - married and expecting

Sun yi and Dong Zijian - married with kid

Mao Xiaotong and Chen Xiang  - couple before he was revealed to be a cheater

Ou Hao and Sandra Ma 

Deng Lun and Gina Jin

Zhang Han and Gu Li Nazha

Zhang Han and Zheng Shuang

Zheng Shuang and Anson Hu

Qin Junjie and Yang Zi

Ren Jialun and whoever he just had a kid with

 

 

All of the above are up and coming young actors whose careers are not even firmly established. Oldest is probably Zhang Han. and he's still considered an idol actor. If you want me to list more, I could probably come up with way more.

 

I think it's because they don't cultivate their popularity an unrealistic image of being available for their fans or secretly being in a relationship with another boyband member
