You can believe what you want, of course, but were you particularly close with that person from your family? Sometimes I'm notified of people passing away in my family, but it's people I've never met. Yeah, it's a bit sad because you were related, but if you didn't know them, your mind not caring about their death isn't really a bad thing. I'd say that's normal.
