Casperjeff 5,249
[enter-talk] FEMALE FANS ARE FREAKING FRUSTRATING Posted on 6:15 AM by kei z Their double standards towards male idols is too much 1. Male idol (confirming L as a lead) "Myungsoo-yah fighting!" "Actor Kim Myungsoo fighting!! I will support the judge of visuals" "Kim Myungsoo <3 <3" "Kim actor, fighting" "Kim Myungsoo fighting" (Announcing IU as a lead) "Ah...Can IU stop acting, can't she just stick to singing..." "Not digging the story.... It's an outdated scenario" "Please let's just stick to singing?" "Please stop appearing in dramas, it's about a 20 years old girl with a 4 years old man, just thinking about their relationship he probably rapes her and she sues him, then goes "I like you" and turns out she's a ggot-baeng. This country's dramas are a fail" "IU already looks like she's acting in real life, so when she's acting, it looks even more that she's acting" "The lead is too severe" 2. female vs male idols Kai: To be honest it didn't look that hard On Happy Together, Yerin was saying how hard her dances were and danced in front of everyone, then Kai made that comment But in the end, Yerin was the one who ended up getting sworn atã…‹ Because she dragged Afterschool and Girls day sunbaesã…‹ã…‹ Gfriend were always known for their hard choreography, and as soon as they comeback, there are always talks about them being hard. So Kai's comment was a bit ignorant 3. Typo fiasco http://pann.nate.com/talk/340468744 (basically a post pointing out all the writing mistakes Jimin made) And the best comments: *What are you doing to my brats?* "Please try to be less obvious with your hate, don't feed the troll" And when Suzy makes a writing mistake http://pann.nate.com/talk/340593490 The best comments "Not for nothing that she got into a controversy with the way she talks in award shows...Personally I don't think she can act" "Gathering all that together, it's amazing lol It's hard to be that bad" To be honest, both of them made the same kinds of mistakes in my opinionã…‹ã…‹ Not only that but Male idols are a bit ugly - He's a stan attractorㅜㅜ mochi mochi Female idols are a bit ugly - How can she be in a girl group? Male idols are short - Shortie so cute!! Female idols are tall - She's so tall that it's burdensome.. Foreign male idols - Look at how clumsy he is with Korean...Cute Foreign female idols - How long has she been in Korea already, she still speaks like this? post response: [+665][-564] original post: here ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 02:37 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° I can prove I'm an EXO-L, you're actually wrong with the Yerin incident, it was other male panelists who started, but they only put the captions on the screen when Kai spoke and it looked like Kai was the one dissing her. It was EXO's comeback the following week and Kai got so much sworn at but we just bit the bullet. Yerin was the one who mentioned the other girl groups and she got bashed by those groups' fans, did EXO-Ls do anything wrong? Ha... I"m so speechless, those panelists were the ones who set up the mood and Kai just responded because he got induced to do it. Kai was the one who clapped the most when Yerin was dancing, so why are we only dissing him? Is it just because he's from EXO? ì´ë¯¸ì§€í™•대보기 추천343 반대75 ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 00:35 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° But even male groups fans have it hard because they're male idols fans.. Their mentality is challenged everyday, being an idol fan is an extreme job no matter who. 추천300 반대29 ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 02:31 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° But Yerin is the one who said that her dances were harder than other girl groups and personally, I didn't find her dance that hard either? And Jimin got f*cking dissed for his writing mistakes too, what are you saying? 추천240 반대54 ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 00:07 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° What, so you're saying that male idols fans = diss female idols? What a strange mind 추천117 반대51 ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 00:30 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° As long as male idols have good proportions they go "He's damn fine" but when female idols are tall, they start judging their big face, neck length, small shoulders, waist size, leg line, etc. it's seriously so severe;; 추천88 반대2 ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 00:21 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° This doesn't only apply to celebrities. Politically speaking, the general society is just more severe towards girls ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹Before our country decides to do something for women, it'll take another 50 years

Nip&Hip 2,601
There are definitely double standards against female idols when it comes to many things, but most of the examples this person gave is just not it.
tide 14,243
not to bring it up again but...didnt boa also say boy group choreos were more difficult :x there's no denying a general double standard between male and females, but this post lacks a lot of nuance
Clover. 10,048
mess is when iu's+suzy+yoona acting >>>> l's acting. that combo with go ara will be interesting..... but i agree with the first comment, after i watched the show and watched the dance she showcased... i can see why kai said that. ametrine 662
It's so annoying. The stuff some muggles say about female idols acting it's like they'll immediately ruin everything but when it's a male idol go ahead let him try
boredpanda18 936
#1) I've seen some female idol casting that was received well and male idol casting that wasn't but yeah... more female idols are dragged by knets, I couldn't deny that. There are definitely double standards against female idols when it comes to many things, but most of the examples this person gave is just not it. agreed
bearxbunny 3,069
Click here to view the Tweet we all know this fact, but lbr people were attacking kai because he's from exo (popular boy group member) but i do agree in some cases tho
secondgrade 5,588
You have to be incredibly biased to only focus on the hate females get, the only ones writing comments like that are fans, L always gets comments like those IU ones and Kai got a LOT of hate for that comment too even though what he said was true lol, Yerim barely got hated smh i cant say that female celebrities dont get hate but its a damn lie that ONLY them suffer from double standards
Saint Rose 9,391
idk why people get upset when people say bg dances are harder because it's true. But GGs typically focus and have better vocals overall so it evens out i think ㅇㅇ |2018.02.08 00:21 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° This doesn't only apply to celebrities. Shourie 459
There's double standards that's playing here that y'all can see and feel. These comparisons are tragic but the "examples" themselves aren't. Both male and female idols gets bashed there's no denying that but the severity of it is clearly different. Doesn't mean that boy groups get bashed, this matter will dissolve or become irrelevant that's not how it works. People should try to explore other groups too so they can see what's happening both sides and not just see what's on their side. Also some of those top comments derailed quite a bit. You can't deny it, this issue has been alive for so long. I bet you some of these comments came from girls themselves.
RiriWilliams 1,709
LOL what response did expect posting this on PANN, the funniest I saw was the comments on a Radio Romance article. Everyone was praising Yoon Doo Joon ( he is very good) and yet they were bashing Yura because she was an idol actress. They were oblivious to the the double standard. plainolejane 173
Sadly there will always be this problem in our society at least in the foreseeable future... Women are held to a higher standard than men all because we don't have a cock... :/
Mister Dove 10,782
no one puts female idols down more than fans of rival female idols. maybe GG stans should check themselves for once before blaming all their misfortune on BG fans.
Ihavepopcorn 12,815
Male idols get the same amount of criticism. The difference is their fans are there in the blink of an eye to defend them so a lot of it gets buried. Girl groups just don't have a fanbase that goes all out like that so the hate doesn't sink to the bottom or get downvoted to hell.

respectmyauthori-tah 1,450
It depends on so many circumstances. Nothing of this can works as general rule. It depends on the group's image and reputation. It depend of the size of the fandom and how many fans are willing to go beyond limits to protect. I think groups who rely on general public's likes and dislikes are the ones who usually behave and act very cautioous. This is not just for boy groups it also works for girls groups. Did you guys ever seen how APink are at variety shows? In this group they have 4 members who are very loud, noisy and huge extroverts who apparently do not care much about what people might think. Did you guys have seen how Mamamoo behaves at variety shows? They are crazy. There are many examples of many other girl groups with members who do not try hard to look well behaved and mindful about actions all the time. Of course they all can be serious, responsible and look well behaved when they must to be. Boys do get away from many things but....from some things they can't escape. It's much easy to accuse boys of sexual harassment and sexual abuse than to accuse girls of the same things. Wooshin of UP10TION and Woohyun of Infinite who were falsely accused and so tremendously hated even after being proven to be innocent. no one puts female idols down more than fans of rival female idols. maybe GG stans should check themselves for once before blaming all their misfortune on BG fans. True. You have to be incredibly biased to only focus on the hate females get, the only ones writing comments like that are fans, L always gets comments like those IU ones and Kai got a LOT of hate for that comment too even though what he said was true lol, Yerim barely got hated smh i cant say that female celebrities dont get hate but its a damn lie that ONLY them suffer from double standards Agree It's so annoying. The stuff some muggles say about female idols acting it's like they'll immediately ruin everything but when it's a male idol go ahead let him try Male idols who are bad actors are constantly bashed. And if you go drama's blogs and sites when one of them is casted nobody who is not a fan gives a relief sigh instead they do angry rants. not to bring it up again but...didnt boa also say boy group choreos were more difficult :x there's no denying a general double standard between male and females, but this post lacks a lot of nuance Agree. ThankyouAndSorry 221
Male idols get the same amount of criticism. The difference is their fans are there in the blink of an eye to defend them so a lot of it gets buried. Girl groups just don't have a fanbase that goes all out like that so the hate doesn't sink to the bottom or get downvoted to hell. GG fans = mostly male who wouldn't go all out to defend idols they like except if the gg are on top. Male only act the same way bg fans act when talking about sports team they like. you would also need to account the age group of the fans and the sites which host the discussions. ------ the difficulties of bg and gg dances are different. people said bg dances are more difficult (Boa said they have a lot of footwork), but I have yet to see any bg beautifully re-executed gg dance with high heels except maybe for that one group with Ren in it. even Taemin though is very excellent in Move is not as beautiful as Koharu dancing the same moves. 金彩媛 1,795
way to throw L under the bus to make a point, when there's members from several boygroups we all know who've had one-time acting gigs and everybody supported them. the difference is L has already appeared in a few dramas and whether some of you think he can't act isn't relevant
金彩媛 1,795
also, there's no double standard. idols (regardless of gender) get a free pass to do and say whatever they feel like when they have a lot of fans who can shield them nugu idol says problematic shit = she's/he's over, she/he's cancelled relevant and popular idol says problematic shit = oh she/he didn't really mean that, it was just a mistranslation
