YGEX posted a notice on their website that the release of Taeyang's solo album in Japan, which was scheduled on May 28, will be delayed once again. New release date will be announced in May.

The album is supposed to be the Japanese version of his imminent Korean album. Seems like YB's album is set back once again because it is failing to impress YG.

Posted already? Im sorry if Im late lol

They shouldn't announce albums until they're done imo.

the thing is taeyang is managed by another company (YGEX) in japan and if this recent incident didnt happen we'd probably would have gotten an album on his bday (17 May) (ok please dont misunderstand this, i am not trying to blame the incident for this postponement, i am only trying to show another scenario) and the album has been done for a while actually (yg's just being strange in not releasing it earlier, oh wells) we'll just have to wait for his official release

here's the unofficial release of 1AM

i hope you like

YG delays comebacks until he is certain that albums are top quality- said the man himself.

I'm confused. OP said it's basically just his Korean album, but in Japanese (unless I misread that). So other than perfecting the language, what is there to do to make sure it's top quality?

If BB's indeed coming back in August, it's probably a good idea to focus on that in the meantime. I understand YB fans wants solo album, but you can't do too much at once. Debuting Winner, Psy's Comeback, BB's.. and YB? Plus if anything, if BB's comeback does well, and I have no reason to suspect it wouldn't. It'll give more exposure to YB and any of his upcoming activities.

If his Japanese album was due after his birthday then he has to release a Korean album prior to that. YB is long overdue for a solo album for more than three years now. Besides, his scheduled comeback in September was halted and postponed.

Oh ok, I was under the impression it's just his existing Korean album translated into Japanese. In that case May would've been a great time for him to promote tho he would be pretty overworked. YG's timing's always terrible.

Let's just do this:

Late May/Early June: Release AKMU's 3rd MV and 2NE1's Gotta Be You MV (already filmed)

Early-mid June: PSY comeback (Doesn't matter about the World Cup. It's an American/WW release and he's so powerful in Korea that even the World Cup won't stop him from slaying)

Mid-July after World Cup: WINNER debut

August: Taeyang + Epik High

September: Big Bang

The last 3 months can be used for Lee Hi and debuting either Team B or the new GG.

That would be in an ideal situation. lol

I think you would have to bump back Taeyang. The release date of his Jap album tells me YG is serious about scheduling his comeback soon. YG staff also confirmed he was filming an mv.

Tablo tweeted about his own upcoming album and Epik High's:

ì—픽하ì´ì˜ 신곡들과 ì €ì˜ ì†”ë¡œ 2ì§‘ì„ ë™ì‹œì— 만들고 있습니다. ì‘ì› ê³ ë§ˆì›Œìš”. / Simultaneously workin' on new Epik High material & my 2nd solo album. Thanx for the support.

Also, Winner will most likely debut before Big Bang in order to promote together.

What Japanese release date? It currently has no release date. Your source said that it was previously scheduled for May 28 and that the new date will be announced in May. Meaning it hasn't been announced yet, but the earliest possible release date would be sometime in June. I suppose a June release for Taeyang is possible if YG doesn't care if it flops.

Epik High is a toss-up. This is YG. Just because an album is being worked on and is near completion doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be released within the next 2 years lol. Even an MV filming doesn't mean much anymore. 2NE1's Happy MV was shot in 2012 and released last month.

I don't expect anyone from YG to release in May due to the Sewol incident. AKMU will finish their promotions since they were already underway but YG is way too cautious about their public image to be one of the first to start releasing music after the tragedy. The best choice would be to release Psy in June since anyone else would be massively overshadowed by the World Cup, but of course, it all depends on whether YG cares about YB and EH getting overshadowed by the World Cup or not.

The date is being rescheduled but still, it shows that YB's comeback is a priority now. Having to release two albums means that Taeyang is set to comeback as early as possible in order to promote both.  He can't release a Jap album without a korean album first.

If anything, YG claimed Winner would begin filming their mv. PSY finished filming an mv in the beginning of the year. 2ne1's Gotta Be You Mv is overdue by 2 months now. None have been released.

I bet YG would rather be as much cautious as possible with Winner, let other acts comeback first until he feels confident enough with their debut. That means scratching out established acts like PSY, Taeyang and Epik High first.
