Eng subbed ver of Unit B greeting

Main vocal is Chan. Lead vocals would be Jun & Kijoong I guess. Jun & Kijoong are not good enough to be main vocals.

Idk about Hojung since so far he didn't show me much apart of singing in the safe zone and I have doubts about him being the lead vocal from the singing he showed in The Unit so far.

But anyway, I guess they wouldn't assign these lead-main vocals and dancers explicitly like how Wanna One did. All Wanna One did is just assigning someone as a leader officially and that's it. The rest you can only tell from parts distribution, who are the ones who usually have significant bigger and challenging parts over the rest. Imo it's likely that it's gonna be Chan > Jun > the rest. Cuz Kijoong has puberty block, I'm not sure how much parts he can be assigned of. Hopefully plenty.

No yeah I meant “main vocal line†as in the core vocals of each song, I feel like the three of them will dictate a lot what of the vocals will end up sounding like, which I am actually really excited for because I think the rawness of Kijoong’s voice which is quite unique, Chan’s sweeter vocals (ex. Jungkook BTS, Suho EXO etc) and Jun’s versatile voice where he can switch from ballad mode to pop song in an instance will be very dynamic. - thinking about all the interesting harmonization has me PUMPED actually.

Watching this, they are starting to give me ASTRO vibes. I wonder if they are going to capitalize on their beagle charm or their reversal charms like JBJ.

Thought it would be good to post UNIT-B's Vocal Line, singing for reference:

I am still curious as to how they will sound together:

I actually never watched his position stage until now and I am impressed. I honestly think if he can overcome the puberty complication, he is a main vocal potential for sure.

Man, I give props to Jun for managing the main vocal lines in both songs, you could see that he sturggled to hit the notes but he tried his best. Although he is a rapper, he has the potential to be a decent vocalist and hopefully he will get taught the proper techniques to become a better vocalist. Chan has proven that he is truely a main vocalist of ace and it is shown with this performance. Although the group is shows that they can do without a 'tanky' vocal and hopefully they just have chan do the high notes imo. Jun is alright but you can see the stuggle (vocal training will improve it) and poor kijoong is going through puberty so he is unable to show his vocal talent due to the group being limited in time.

I anticipate what type of songs they will release bevause there is a potential of showing off their own charm with the talent they have.

Personally, I believe Jun has close to main vocal poitential if the producers for U.N.B invest in training him as such a little more. People have to realize that in U-KISS, he was actually transitioning to becoming a Lead/Main Vocal anyway because Soohyun (the power vocal) was joining the army.

Jun just clearly needs to know how to not strain his voice too much to hit such high notes. This being said, I’m still really impressed with him, and to me he is definitely not just merely a sub-vocal or bound to being a rapper. He has always been delving between singing and rappping in U-KISS.

I hope KBS takes sometime to finesse the boys, it’s all they really need to be great - a little tweaking.

Question for y'all, what kind of variety show would you want to see UNB do?

1. Daily dorm life

2. Mission-based show

3. Cookin Show (like NCT Korean Cooking King, U-KISS' Chef's Kiss)

4. Travel/Vacation based (Like BTS Bon Voyage)

So I just took a listen to WannaOne’s new song I.P.U, and I feel like UNB would do really well with a similar concept and song. Bright, performance base but with good vocal points, and a upbeat dance track aka beagle song central.

I think getting 1 million views in 1 week sounds the most feasible. Let's get it.

While I do want them to do sorta bright song, I'm also not so sure due to them being veterans with some age for some of them. I.P.U has more youthful vibe, which has been covered by Wanna One and actually suits them better. So if UNB goes to bright route, maybe it's better for them to do something more mature? Like Unit B's Question maybe. Or something around that.

Due to their lineup, I also think maybe BTS style or JBJ style of songs would suit them to not show their weakness in vocal much, because the songs focus more on being catchy and the rap-vocal ratio is 50:50. This group has plenty of rappers anyway.

This is just my opinion. But I don’t think UNB should be pigeon-holed into songs with 50% rap. The members have stated that they want to been seen as a group that can do anything where the rappers can sing and vice versa, so they are willing to put in that extra work. maybe not something exactly like IPU necessarily but then again “Pull Me†and IPU are not very far off from each other.

If they were to do something more rap centered, I think something like IKON’s “Love Scenario†would be quite easy to do.

In the end, there is a reason composers and producers exist, so far we haven’t seen a song that is currently tailored to UNB’s vocals to really show what they can do. The closest thing to that in my opinion has been the “Breathe†stage, and that certainly wasn’t a weak stage imo.

That being said I am not really wanting UNB to strain themselves to try and do a MAMAMOO or TVXQ level song either. I just want them to have options and for people to believe that they can pull it off. Being a power vocalist doesn’t always mean you are the best singer.

I finally got around to watching UNB's stuff.  I must say, I'm extremely disappointed in the way they're being promoted.

1. The music video NEEDED to be on 1theK, that would increase the views way beyond 1 million.  If BIGFLO and HOTSHOT can get their music videos on 1theK, there's no excuse why UNB's videos aren't.

2. They aren't playing the group's strengths.  When you've got a group with amazing dancers like Feeldog, Euijin, Daewon, Hojung, Hansol, and even Chan, there should be some super intense and cool choreography.  Nothing was memorable about the choreo.

3. Their ballad song had a lot of auto-tune, which is awkward because ballads are supposed to show off vocal strength.

4. I didn't like the teasers with their fake tattoos.  The tattoos looked stupid and obviously fake. People who don't like tattoos aren't going to like the teasers, and people who like tattoos won't like it either because they're just painted on.

5. The songs are pretty good, but there is a lot of competition right now between Wanna One, EXO-CBX, Winner, Super Junior, and TVXQ.  It's gonna be really hard to stand out.  I hope they do well, but it's gonna be difficult.

I know it’s just your opinion but the level of negativity in this post is astounding. Not sure what you consider to be memorable choreography but UNB’s choreo is 100% skilled and memorable and non-UNB stans have even noticed that.

Also not sure where the autotune is in Only One. I hate that people don’t understand what actual autotune sounds like, like legit that is just their vocal tone and Reverb (literally the smallest voice echo) which is NOT AUTO TUNE. And the tattoos were never meant to look real and you can’t predict how people are going to feel about it.

Lastly, the only thing I can agree on is the way the MVs were uploaded - slightly messy.

That being said to ignore everything else that is being done:

Appearances on:

K-RUSH

Immortal Song

Gag Concert

Happiness Train

Entertainment Weekly

Yu Yuel’s Sketchbook

Hello Counselor

An incoming reality show

Dream Concert 2018

3 Busking events (packed btw)

Countless VLIVES + special videos

Burger Kings Ads

And more to come...

Like not really sure what KBS can do other than continuing what they are doing. What bothers is me is not the criticism but like if the fans dont support UNB who will - and negativity is no help. KBS will make mistakes, all we can hope for is they learn from them.

So a little drama has arisen on UNB and ACE Twitter and I am wondering what anyone thinks?

There have been a good amount of tweets I've seen wishing for UNB's disbandment because they want to see specifically Chan back in ACE...

Personally, I think it's a little selfish....
