The fire started at around 7:56 a.m. and was completely extinguished by 10 a.m. According to authorities, no one was injured, but eight people inside the building inhaled smoke and were transferred to other sections of the hospital complex. Officials believe some smoke remains across the second to fifth floors of the building, but did not spread any higher. The hospital said outpatient consultation rooms and patient wards are located from the seventh floor and above. The blaze follows deadly fires in a commercial building in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province in December which killed 29 people and at a hospital in Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province last month, which killed 40 people. Haphazard construction, buildings too close, no sprinklers in “small†buildings or if they are there they’re turned off to prevent water damage, faulty wiring, emergency exits blocked, illegally parked cars blocking emergency vehicles from getting in because not enough parking was made in the first place...
