My Summary:

Otaro Dojima is a money hungry who works as a popular host and he believes that love is the root of all evil.... (wtf dude?) He pursue a woman, whose family owns a huge billion yen company, and does everything in order to get what he wants. At first he keeps dying, because of a woman who keeps kissing him (hence the title Kiss That Kills), and then he goes back 7 days in the past. But, dude finds out he can go back and rewrite the past in 7 days and uses the woman.

My Thoughts:

It's a good plot, although some of the acting is a bit over reacting, but then again, if I die over and over again and trying to find my killer at the same time, its probably the exact same reaction. The cast is actually great. I ship Otaro and the Woman that kills with a kiss rather than Mikoto. Also, Mackenyu's really great in here. Yamaken not so much imo, but hey some people beg to differ.

LOTS OF KISSING IN THIS DRAMA, THOUGH! GOOD KISSING, TOO! Not like those stiff kissing where the lips don't move af. Oh, and the story is fast paced so I don't easily get bored, thank god. And they don't drag the shit out of it. I like the mystery part of this rather than the romance part. I can, also, definitely say this is more of a mystery and thriller rather than a romance drama. Don't watch the first two episode at night. My mistake and creeps the shit out of me. Downside of it is, its a bit predictable for me.

The stalking part really got me. It was so believable, and it made my heart race...

I think I saw the ratings for this wasn't off to a very good start.

At least, I thought it'd be better considering it had YamaKen, Mackenyu, Araki Yuko, and Masaki Suda. Looks like they packed it full with a whole bunch of popular actors/actresses.

Its funny though. I don't root for his character, but the plot is good. The only people I feel really bad for them is the "Killer Kisser Woman" and the Rich Girl. Both lead, Mackenyu and Yamaken are douches in this. Spoilers:

Mackenyu's character is a two face. He has hidden agenda, but nice on the outward.

I've seen episode 1-3 and for now its quite good. Fast paced and interesting plot. Love the mystery angle for this drama. I also love the kissing scenes. Its hilarious.

Theory Time/ Spoilers ahead:

From episode 1, I knew the actual killer of Otaro is actually someone close and not actually the woman who was kissing him. Then by the time episode 2 came, and the kissing woman was actually his savior, albeit killing him in the process, was Kazuma. He was the only one who was next to him. I started to put the pieces, him getting his food and could have easily tampered with his drinks and whatever. Getting pushed off the bridge, etc.

As for the homeless person. I think he's the missing brother. Somehow, he lived probably because of Saito. He probably knows who he is and who is the actual culprit of the ship sinking, but decided to live as a hobo or memory loss with bits of pieces floating in his head. Like little flashbacks. Dude is mysterious af though.

Is it a coincidence that his nickname is Eight, and the eight is also a symbol for infinity sign. Or Orobouros. Its a nice touch from the writer.

I'm liking it. Thought I'd just stay for the cast after Episode 1 (because it was honestly tiring to watch), but the next episodes improved so much that I'm now on it for the story and characters.

I have minor issues on some scenes though, i.e the hospital scene with Kazuma and Otaro. Still I can ignore those because of how things got interesting.

That's a good theory. It's either him or Hiroyuki for me.

Though I'm not sure if young Hiroyuki was already present in the Ship incident cause if he is then it's only the homeless guy unsure.png

Episode 4 had a scene with Saiko and homeless guy meeting again, and it seems like he remembers her. Saiko and Otaro are the only who are supposed to be aware of each other every time leap

I'm at the third episode right now, the drama gives me Death Note vibes with the contrast between the two male leads and the god-like powers laugh.png I'm hooked though, and it's been a while since I've watched a jdrama.

That's who my second guess too. I've read some comments about how Takauuji is the missing brother too... But, the problem is he's the older brother aint he? Yeah I do agree there are some scenes that are a little iffy.

Been finding where to watch Episode 4. I usually use non reputable streaming sites. Where do you watch yours?

That's great! I actually forgot to put up there that the screenwriter is the same as Death Note Live Action. Not sure which one, but I think the 2016 Death Note.

At first I thought it's Takauji too but he's in the same event with Mikoto, Otaro & his younger brother and Saiko when the accident happened.

I've found out who the brother is. The brother is Hiroyuki Hasebe. Suda Masaki's character was the guy that was kissed during Saiko's high school. And Takauji's real dad, his uncle, is the one that was the cause of all this...

Oh and I want Saiko to end up with Otarou, who changed because of her.

Episode 4&5:

Things are heating up. The mystery gets deeper and deeper. The fight between Takauji and Otarou is starting to hype me up.

Looks like Otarou is going to die for good, and Saiko's starting to fall for him. Wonder who she's going to kiss. Its either Suda's character or Takauji. Maybe its Takauji, due to the promotional picture. This is really getting fun.

So far, my hunches are telling me that Hasebe is lil bro Domoji and Homeless dude is the guy was kissed by Saiko during her high school year.

Okay, changed my mind on the shipping of Saiko and Otarou. I don't care who she ends up with, I just hope she finds her happiness. Also, is there a time limit for Saiko's kissing time leaping powers? Why didn't Otarou kiss Saiko again after what happened in the roof during episode 5?

That's possible. He has a pic of Saiko back when she was still in high school after all.

But then again homeless guy is just full of mystery for me and not sure if it's related..

in Suda's Sayonara Elegy (theme song of Todome no Kiss) MV he was reunited with Kento (who probably died after falling) which can only mean that he's in a different world already.

And it makes me think if he really exists-only Otaro and Saiko can see him because they're connected to each other because of the accident.

That's only my theory though jCQ9zCm.png

Ep 5 was intense. Otaro was clever and has the time leap power with him but Takauji was able to out-smart him.

I think so too. See my theory above~

yeah I wonder what's Saiko's connection to Takauji

Maybe because once they use the time leap again, they won't be able to save Otaro's mom? They have very little time to do so when they went back to the past.

That's good theory of Suda Masaki's character.

Let me just get this straight. Your theory is that Suda's character is a ghost right? It's a good theory since we already have a time loop thing going on in the drama. But, my only quirk is that the homeless dude was able to get help. So that kinda render him being a ghost or other wordly entity.

This show is part Science Fiction right? Because if not, then its either paranormal or Fantasy. That's the only way I can say about the time loop powers. I agree about episode 5, its a good episode too. Man, we finally some bit of changes from Otarou. I forgot about Otarou's mom's situation.

Now that I think about it, Otarou wont have time to go to his mom's side, with all the running.

Best drama of the season, imo. Great plot so far.

So any theories you can think of ?

I was thinking that there probably is a limit to how many times the kiss can be performed as they are sort of actually dying in the process.

And so far I'm not into 'Suda is the younger brother' theory 'cause it would be too simple, I guess?

But I haven't watched episode 5 yet.

It's interesting. We can see what happened to the others after Otaro and Saiko died.

Yes, like homeless guy is some sort of delusion for Otaro and Saiko laugh.png

Ah that's true and I think Kazuma saw him in episode 2... Well there goes my theory about Suda's character~ lmao

It seems like Saiko got the time loop power after the accident. Although I do wonder if the drama will explain how she got it.

That's what I wanna know. And yeah, Suda's character, who from now on I'm gonna call Harumi since that's the name they've given him, is too simple or too easy for us to find out. I do hope the writers and the show explain us the rules of her powers.

Personally, that would be a good plot twist. I've heard about the minisodes, but I'm gonna have to wait for it to come out and be subbed. But some of the scenes in the minisodes (just my guess) are also in the main drama, just not as extensive. And if they are, then they're most likely just flashes in the scene like right after they die or while kissing.

I can't wait for the next episodes tbh. I think they did explained it during episode 2 or 3 about her powers. So yes she might have gotten them after the accident.

My predictions:

I don't think it's Harumi, homeless guy, that's going to get kissed but Takauji. Then, Takauji finds out so this motivates him to be more evil. And in return makes Otarou become more good. We do know that Harumi is looking for the time loop woman, which is Saiko. And I think we might see him a bit more than now, but still less. (Lol, am I making sense? Harumi is a secondary character, but still vital in this drama though.) Saiko, Otarou, and Takauji will have battle of the wits after Takauji finds that he had gone back in time after dying.

As for character developments, the two main male character had a really great developments.

Otarou is perceived to be bad, money grubbing, and womanizer because he's a host. But with the time looping, it has changed him for better. He's still want to get that money, but not as much. Now, he wants to find out the mystery behind the accident and exposed them. (The Namiki group.) Imo, Otarou's turning point was when he met Saiko's grandma, then when Otarou's mother died that was the nail in the coffin, so to speak.

Takauji's character has always been shady. But with Otarou and Saiko's time jumping in the past, he's shady character and the mask he wears started to crack. His turning point for me was the episode 3 or 4, I think. Its the part when Otarou tried many times to save Mikoto from Kazuma. Before the Time jumping/looping, he looked like a nice dude.

For Saiko, she has always been introvert and shy. She still is but as we progressed with the story, she's starting to open up herself. Albeit, mostly just with Otarou, but we can tell that she's beginning to let people in her life. Compare to her old life were its just herself and just visiting her grandma.

One more thing to notice: There was a part in episode 2 or 3 that made me question if Takauji knows about the time loop already or just did it based on instinct (due to the repetitive actions that happened in an alternate time?) Because there was a part when he was about to grabbed that red book that Hotei was carrying, but it wasn't with him. That scene really strike me odd, and I hope that they mention this later on again.
