We successfully gathered 421 responses! Yay!! We had some interesting results: 54.2% of the users are young adults; 83.4% of the users are female; 34.9% of the users are white; 43.5% of the users reside in North America; A LOT of users reside in the USA and other anglophone countries (curiously, the non anglophone country with the most users is Brazil); 31.6% of the users are agnostic or don't know their religious beliefs (27.3% are cristhian and 24.9% are atheists); 98.1% of the users are K-Pop fans; 78.9% of the users are Pop fans; 84.3% of the users prefer medium sized groups; 17.8% of the users are BTS stans (9.5% are EXO stans, 7.1% are SHINee stans and 5.7% are TWICE stans); 5.2% of the users are Perfume stans (4.5% are BABYMETAL stans and 3.8% are AKB48 stans); 3.3% of the users are S.H.E stans (2.6% are SNH48 stans and 1.9% are TFboys stans); Most of the users are IU stans, followed by Taeyeon; Most of the users are Namie Amure stans, followed by Utada Hikaru; Most of the users are Luhan stans, followed by Jolin Tsai; Most of the users discovered K-Pop, J-Pop and C-Pop through Youtube; 13.5% follow K-Pop for over 2 to 3 years; 11.6% follow J-Pop for over 10 years; 5.5% follow C-Pop for 0-5 months; 82.7% of the users listen to music through streaming devices; 42.3% of the users went to a concert non related to K-Pop, J-Pop and C-Pop (40.4% have never gone to a concert); 36.1% of the users have bought official K-Pop, J-Pop and/or C-Pop merchandise; 51.5% never bought non-official K-Pop, J-Pop and/or C-Pop merchandise; 76.5% of the uers know people who like K-Pop, J-Pop and/or C-Pop in real life; 74.8% likes watching movies; 71.9% likes watching variety shows/game shows/etc.; 45.7% likes watching dramas/soap operas/etc.; 73.3% likes watching series/miniseries/etc.; 69.9% likes watching animes/cartoons/etc.; When it comes to movies, comedy, fantasy and adventure are the favorite genres of most of the users; When it comes to soap operas/dramas/etc., romance, comedy and drama are the favorite genres of most of the users; When it comes to series/miniseries/etc., comedy, drama and adventure are the favorite genres of most of the users; When it comes to animes/cartoons/etc., fantasy, adventure and comedy are the favorite genres of most of the users; Most of the users consider Park bogum their favorite actor; Most of the users consider Angelina Jolie, Gong Hyo Jin and others as their favorite actress; 58.2% of the users found out about Oh through Google or other search mechanisms; 59.9% of the users created an account to follow their favorite artist, TV show, etc. (53.4% of the users created an account to talk with people of the same interests as them) 72% of the users visits OH multiple times a day; 27.6% of the users like the events of the forum (like Fandom Wars,Oh!gwarts, etc.) but only participate of them sometimes; 41.7% are indifferent regarding the OH!Blog; 51.7% are indifferent regarding the forum games; 44.4% are satisified with the current Mod/Admin's work (40.6% are indifferent/prefer not to say); 57.1% are satisfied with the current Awards Team's work; 48.6% are satisfied with the current Events Team's work (46.2% are indifferent/prefer not to say); 66.9% are satisfied with the current Graphics Team's work; 53.8% are indifferent/prefer not to say with the current Oh!Pressor's work; 48.3% are indifferent/prefer not to say with the current Translator's work; 73.4% of the users have read the rules. Now, we come to the last question: "If you could change anything of Onehallyu, what would it be?" Many users want similar things, here are the most popular responses: Bring back the Bashing Thread; Delete the Bashing Thread; Ban "obvious trolls"/stricter rules against trolling; Bring back mistery won; More/easier ways to gain won; Less toxicity/better users; The reputation system (Unlimited upvotes/negs; No more negs; No more reputation system) Organisation of the forum; The criteria for what gets locked and deleted; Warning points expiring over the time/Shorter time to wait for the Amnesty Event; The servers. Because of that, I manually copied these responses. Here are they): More translations of stuff. Provide explanations be transparent about why certain things happen e.g. mass deletion of posts, notifications that your thread will be archived. Ban the Pedophiles Organisation. This is the most important point in the growth of anything. The organisation here is very good overall but if there were more hands to help the admins, the organisation would be even better. Better communication from mods in the event of an offense/breaking the rules Listen to the users' suggestions and consider each and one of them in a proper discussion A lot easier to get won. How you have to have 50 damn posts to view tags.. it's bs. I go to OH to search the tags and since the updated rules ages ago, I have to wade through crap to find stuff tagged for my bias groups. I've been a member since the beginning of 2016 and rarely post and i'm at like 24 posts and have to force myself to post occasionally to get enough posts to eventually view the tags again, even though I absolutely dislike posting. It's made me give up almost. Only the prices of things in the wonhallyu shop. I wish the app was easier to navigate, but i don't know if you guys can change that. Platinum tokens price regulation more users :( I would recruit a more diverse (location-wise) staff to solve the large gaps of time that mods and awards team are dead. More big games like mafia, happening more frequently. Also it's hard to get wons, so add in something to help us get rich. Users More control towards limiting/controlling troll threads and hate threads Too many trolls The improvement of the Mod/Admin team. More fairness control the hate comments and trolling Less trolls Bring back comrad hallyu / Loosen the new bashing thread rules, they're hard to understand unless you read between the lines. Only allow posts in the ERT to be upvoted. Shorter time to wait for our warning points to be removed TT Mods now delete even the slightest arguments on threads, which I find strange. mmmmm more albums to choose, to stop deleting comments if it's an unpopular opinion in a thread Remove inappropriate/sexual commentary about idols. I get that there's an 18+ section though honestly, sometimes commentary that belongs there ends up in the regular sections. Also not really sure why there needs to be an 18+ section and threads for groups. Seems inappropriate and kind of disturbing honestly because these are comments made about real people who could potentially see these comments (or comments could be translated. etc). More prompt action needs to be taken towards users who make inappropriate, suggestive or sexual comments/posts about idols as well. Less stupid bans Blatant troll accounts should be deleted sooner. It would be nice if we could have unlimited upvotes and downvotes. NO MORE BTS Make it easier to earn won I would allow users to delete their own threads + give thread creators the ability to ban certain people from their post (if they come in to start trouble) and basically let them mod their own topics/posts/threads. (But not the rest of the sight). Have an troll forum where trolls can talk A better way to handle trolls (well the malicious ones at least) be able to delete your own posts Servers Actually banning trolls for good since they're always polluting the forum and mods seem to not care about that. Maybe the forum content, it's a little boring. An actual server instead of potatoes You lock threads too soon at times chill bro More variety of themes. Bring back Bashing Thread Ban all the trolls, sometimes they're too much and stop me from enjoying the forums fully. More WW's/Mafia's Abolish limitation on upvotes per day Sometimes it is a pain to always have to do the thing for all pictures and gifs etc. Negging Increase the activity of Korean lyric translations. There are requests that have been sitting in the request thread for months now. Better servers and nicer layouts let the warning points expire layout/background graphics Stop people from trolling and directly ban them, I don't see the point of letting someone say things just to upset fans. The punishment for trolling should be harsher. It's not properly a change but I'd bring back unique awards obtainable with plats since there's so many inactive users who still have uniques but people who have been saving for some times can't have it cause of new rules allow wider sigs Increased signature limit Nothing, it's fun and the staff is doing an amazing job thank you ily all I'd like to have trolls and racists banned. Less vitriol e.g. the Bashing Thread i would remove the reputation system I wish we could search topics by Start Date! It'd make things so much easier! The BT being re-vamped is a massive improvement but the effects of the stifling of conversation with almost everything negative being directed to the BT in the past still exists. A Stand Your Ground thread based on stats and facts based arguments rather than emotion could be great. The rep banners and emphasis on wons and rep make it so people hyper-fixate on how they get negged and how they are perceived. Its a human response but these things are perpetuated by the system in place. Sometimes when I click on the notifications for a thread I follow, the notifications box will disappear. So that can be slightly annoying. I'd make a better organized and more comprehensive guide to how to use OH. I'd like to see how many upvotes I have left per day and when they refresh. I'd also like the ability "undo" an upvote or neg because I sometimes click the wrong side :P Bigger badges Allow users to switch accounts if they've been on OH for over a year. Get rid of the trolls Less trolling. All the damn trolls. The admins don't do shit to stop them. They're annoying and you've taken away the bashing thread so most are migrating to the normal forums.. This could be checked by the Mods through Ask A Mod thread with evidence included. Another one is when it's obvious a new account was made for the sole purpose of trolling because they have only 15 posts or *insert small number here. I wish we could be able to just ban these user accounts if we brought this issue to the Ask A Mod thread with evidence. Thirdly, with the rise of 10+ member groups, I would like the tag amount to increase to at least 15. That way we are able to tag all members plus their group name. How some threads are locked quickly even though it was a mature conversation BRING BACK THE BASHING THREAD Be a bit stricter with trolls There should be a harsher stigma against people who derail threads faster crackdowns on obvious trolls, more active mod team Warning Points and Rules about Locking Threads. You might wanna ask those aggressive stans that always want to shade other fandoms but they can't take the slightest criticism even if it has a base then neg bombed it then report. Hypocrites. It's interesting how my arguments about non-kpop here are always smooth and thoroughly. Unlike those dumb K-pop related arguments which sometimes makes sense but people will still report it because they can't take facts and claims (obviously I'm excluding trolls). Report button are used for reporting malicious content and false claims not arguments that you cry over because you can't fight it head on. Also not at people always demanding shit from the mods. I doubt any of you have been a mod somewhere. It's hard and irritating especially when you want to give people freedom but it's you guys that goes overboard lmao.
