Should I go for PGC (Post Graduate Certificate) or Masters in IT?

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I achieved a 1st in Business Management for my undergraduate degree. I have worked as an analyst in various sectors, but for some reason I am really struggling to find a job. I have had interviews but its always someone knowing a bit more than me.

So I thought maybe I need to update my skills a bit. Maybe my experience suits IT more but I don't have the qualifications to back it up.

Liverpool University do online masters programmes and also PGC.

I thought maybe I should just go for the Masters but its too expensive, even as a UK student its approx £19,000.

I wanted to do the PGC (only takes 12 months) and the structure of the course suits me better. I just need something to compliment what I already have. Plus its considerably cheaper its around £6000 instead.

Its all done online so I can still save a bit of money by staying at home.

However, University in Scotland is cheaper. Their masters is around £7000. Then we have the living costs though...so it adds up.

Basically, should I go for the Masters or be content with studying Post Graduate Certificate in Information Technology?

You need work experience - more college won't make much difference.  Try to get any IT job you can and then study for product certifications on the side.  Oracle database is a good one - lots of demand and the certification will make you far more employable than a Masters degree in IT. Good luck!
