I wasn't even thinking of buying a house, but the chance has basically fallen into my lap. The interest rates are pretty low rn (in the US), the area where I would be buying is up and coming (so it's an investment), it'd be about the same price as renting (or cheaper), it'd be closer to work then the apartment I was about to lease. So, make sure it's something you actually want because other costs and burdens - i.e., lawncare/snow removal/money set aside for repairs - are annoying. But it is a good time to buy if it's something you are interested in. I'd talk to a lender and figure out the financial impact. Furniture is expensive, too.
