I was always close but I became really close with my parents during the end of highschool/start of college. I tell them everything, what happens with my friends, recent gossip and etc. I wouldnt call them my bestfriends tho because I dont tell them about sexual stuff or anything or romantic related stuff tho (i only tell my my mom about my boyfriends after we break up)

not really emotionally close since they work nearly 12 hours every day of the week, but i like them. my dad has a short temper so im somewhat afraid of him but when he's in a good mood i genuinely enjoy talking to him

 

my relationship with my step mom is odd—i've lived with her for 11 years and almost never talk to her—but i don't dislike her either. i wish we could become closer but it's kind of awkward to just suddenly start talking after over a decade of not really talking + she doesn't speak english very well ;;;; but i think we've been making progress recently!! she said "bye" to me yesterday when she left for work and i've been really happy about it
