So I haven’t been into kpop for a while and I’m not sure if I’m accurate on this. But netizens are having a field day calling all these idols gay. I’m not sure if they are actually calling them gay cause they are, or because of the fanservice. So I think from now on less fanservice will be done. I mean it’s great. The gay idols get to be themselves, and say their gay shit that some other member will try to cover up in a few seconds cause it was too obvious and now it becomes fanservice. The straight idols will benefit cause they don’t have to kiss people with bad breath anymore ,that they aren't attracted to everybody wins.

 

Also do you think gay fanservice is becoming a thing. Not fanservice fanservice where they pretend to be a couple. But people actually pretending to be gay. Cause these new idols are really bold like seriously. People like Jackson,Wonho,Sungjae etc. Is this a thing now? Are they trying to appeal to gay fans? If they are they should cut it out. They make it harder on themselves and their average korean person to be taken seriously. Same with these April fools coming out jokes.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was happening, but what do they get out of pretending to be gay? Korean girls, for all their shipping, don't want their oppars to be gay. They want to marry them in the future, after all.

 I don't. I think he's Bi, at the most. I've seen him expressing genuine interest for women too many times to ignore. Also, he seems to be telling the truth when talking about his past girlfriends, though past girlfriends don't automatically mean bi or straight. 

 

 

Ps. Oh god, are we arguing over whether a fan is LGBT or not?   So what if he is? What's it with you people? Most gay men are manly and have muscles. Have you seen Jaejoong's muscles? That's men. They literally fetishize (sexually). That is, as long as they fit their ideal types. Show them a butch lesbian, and they'll run for the hills.

 

From what I've seen, women don't do it as much, except outside of ships. Too many of them genuinely believe these guys are straight, that they "can't" be gay (I've read this waaay too many times in comments on different platforms). They ship them, but they "know" ships aren't real and can never be real. That's how the thinking goes.

 

They are so certain in their belief that everyone in their belief that ALL the members of their favorite group are straight, you would be shocked to see the extents they would go to prove it.

About the Jungkook discussion, I don't think anyone here said he's full on gay (could be, yeah, but no one is 100% sure). I think he could go either way (bi or gay), which is my take on V as well (for now, though my 2nd look at Stigma has me questioning myself nowadays). The only one majority of us are sure of in here is Jimin, and even then, we're probably never going to get concrete evidence to support our claims. 

 

He could have a crush on IU (she's cute, I don't blame him), or it could just be a crush on your favorite idol. We all have our idol crushes. 

 

But what I find ironical here is that people vehemently opposed using that G.C.F video with its gay ass song and picturization as ANY kind of receipt, while nodding along to your favorite idol's singing is suddenly a receipt? The heteronormativity here is stunning, to say the least.

The hipocrisy of some people in this thread pushingthe straight agenda, im happy to see that the one who think jungkook is gay have a good reaction to the IU video sharing the possibility that he might have a crush on girls. Meanwhile jungkook vid about jimin is so gay as fuck but the straigh agenda peops always find bullshit excuse, i wonder what they will say if jungkook did that vid about IU, they will probably be up in our face about “couply†and no denying of the romantic nature of the relationship but hey since it a guy instead it will fall as just friends

Oh, if that video was about IU, you can bet the whole world that fans, media and random people in the world would be calling them a couple, and that video would suddenly be absolute proof lol. This isn't new at all.  

 

I remember how people defended Kai being straight to hell and back for one whole year just coz he had a straight scandal with no basis. Now that that circus is over, people are more open to questioning him again. So yeah, don't worry about what anyone says, and just post what you feel.

I don't think there's anything going on with Yoongi and Tae, or Yoongi and Jungkook. 

 

These two admire Yoongi, sure, and that's where it ends. It's just impossible for me to thin anything about Yoongi and Jungkook when he says "father's heart" every time he talks about Jungkook. So yeah, their dynamic is different. 

 

As for Tae and Yoongi, I believe they are too alike (bull headed) and hence, they argue a lot, which is where the hand holding thing came from. They seem to get along more nowadays, but I don't think their personalities allow for a romantic relationship, at all.

I think they're only alike in that they're both kind of stubborn. Otherwise they have completely opposite personalities. And I think yoongi just became a little more gentle with V that's all. I don't think he has a crush on him or anything.

That's what I meant by alike. They're both too stubborn, and pig headed, so they used to clash on everything. Now they don't, which is probably what people are noticing. 

 

And I agree, I don't think either of them have crush on each other.

I've always thought he could be bi but leaning towards girls. And the only reason I think he may be bi is because of his obvious crush on j hope back in the day. Other than that I don't see it. Same with jimin. I've seen him openly flirt with girls. But I guess people here think differently. Though for jimin it could be equal and not leaning towards anyone in particular.

 

The one person who I've never seen affected by girls is Jin. The others all have their moments.

 

I've always thought V was bi too, but Stigma is confusing me. So much angst about being someone who won't be accepted...ah well. Either way, he's not straight.

He's really really casual with women (the one in the elevator, the ones he interacts with on variety shows), but that's it. But I guess that isn't necessarily proof. Or, is it? He's confusing lol.

Jihoon's reaction definitely looks like a massive crush to me because he's like all flustered/shy but regardless of if Jihoon and JK really feel attraction for Taehyung and IU respectively, I think it shows that people still have a very heteronormative mentality.

It's curious because JK is as vocal with his admiration for GD as he is with his admiration for IU but I've barely seen people saying he has a crush on GD like they're saying with IU now. He could perfectly have a crush on both or on none of them but people still tend to assume that EVERY m/f interaction is romantic/sexual attraction.

Exactly! That's what I meant too. I don't necessarily think Jungkook's gay (eternally confused, but he's most probably bi), but the stark difference in how people treat his female and male idol crushes irritate me.

Exactly what I try to say all the time. What is it about Jin specifically as a person that makes people so reluctant to think he might not be straight? Jimin, who everyone here seems convinced is gay, has shown more active interest in women than Jin has....................Jin's mannerisms alone on any other person would immediately be topic for discussion here. But every time someone makes a list of BTS in terms of sexuality, Jin is usually at the bottom/labelled as straight. Why is that?

Well, to be fair, he hides a LOT of his real personalities and mannerisms behind his over the top acts. I believe most people don't look behind it. So they probably put him in the default straight box coz they don't want to look further. All they need to see is his law of the jungle episode to see how "Real Jin" acts lol.

Yeah, we need at least one token straight on there lol. I don't blame them. I freak out enough about the % in BTS as well. My Token straight (ish?) is Hoseok.

I still don't think we need to be worrying about that stuff. Same sex attraction on some level isn't even rare. I think we discussed this a while ago but the recent research all seems to suggest that it's quite common (just not really talked about  ) And even beyond that, in real life, I have some groups of friends that are 100% gay and some where there's only me. Let's just point it out when people ping. I don't think we need to put that much though into it.

Jin is my bias in Bts for like 3 years now and at first I was really sure that he is gay but every time is said something about it i was bashed. I also wasn’t in touch with the lgbt community then (or even discovered I’m bi) so I kinda began to feel guilty bc everyone said I was stereotyping with the mom type and such. This is a little better today but I still haven’t thought about him being gay since then.

 

 

Also has anyone considered that Bts is just a group of boys randomly thrown together? They wouldn’t check to see if they have the straight/gay ratio right, some maybe didn’t even know they were queer then. So yeah it’s possible for 5/7 to be gay(bi, etc).

Aww, don't worry about that. Fans are just protective because he was/is stereotyped a lot (pink, mom, likes cooking), so they get defensive (since a lot of them still think being called with feminine pronouns and being perceived as gay is an insult to a man, when it isn't). Speak your mind. If someone bashes you here, just ignore them. People usually don't go too far in here.

Well, purely from a ship/pairing point of view, sure, they could be, but I don't think they're in a relationship, or even have anything other than (at the most) sexual attraction for each other. It's just in the way they behave, actually. Also, Baekhyun tends to behave in a certain way when he has a crush (remember when he was hung over Chanyeol?), and there is none of that here. But then again, I don't follow all of their interactions, so I might be missing something.

 

But I won't deny their sexual attraction, which is why I (and a lot of people in this thread) think they probably fooled around, but nothing more.

 

Chef Suke, ah well, I'm still not sure about that (purely because of the huge age gap and the power imbalance that comes with it, but I won't judge if that's what Sehun chose), but if it's anyone, at this point, it's probably him, since he seems to be everywhere with Sehun, and there is no other reason for a 40+ year old guy to hang around with a guy in his early 20s 24X7.
