Yes, she kept the baseball, but if you watch that scene again, you can see it was next to a few medical books, and Trash is a doctor so they're probably just trolling us again.

I can't wait for this weeks R94 episodes! It's time for Bing to get some love~ Every other main character's had a romantic storyline but him already. He needs someone who loves him and supports him more than just a friend. That poor boy's family is always in hospital, he's kind of forced to go to school even if he doesn't want to, and he's still not sure what to do with his life. He's a lost puppy trapped in an adult man's body. Someone needs to take care of him.

Surprised though how reply 1997/4 aren't getting as much as hate for putting on gay character and actually got support also lol

 

I guess it's because they're just gay but there isn't too much focus on their sexuality in these shows. Besides the boys having crush on their friends, we don't really see anything gay happening in Reply 1994 and 1997.

 

Life is Beautiful was completely different because the main focus was on how they gay couple tried to get their families and friends accept that they are gay and they even got married. So that one could be seen as "promoting homosexuality" but Reply 1994 and 1997 are not that much. There are a lot of people who only get pissed if they see gay people actively trying to gain acceptation. You know it's that kind of "I don't mind if you're gay just keep it to yourself and don't show it too much in front of me" mentality. Personally I don't agree with this kind of thinking at all but it makes sense why people are not protesting against Reply 1994/97. They don't see too much "gayness" in the drama so it doesn't bother them.

I just realised this: Junhee moved out from the apartment in 2005. He probably only got together with his boyfriend after that because before moving out he was talking about how it's time for him to move on and forget his first love. So even if Bing and Junhee will be a couple in the end, and they meet in 1997, they won't fall in love right away. Maybe they'll meet once in 1997 and then later they'll meet again in late 2005 and become a couple then?

Well, that may be the case most of the time, but for some people sexual and romantic orientations differ. It's completely possible for someone to be biromantic but homosexual, it's just not all that common.

I was watching a video just the other day in which a guy explained how he says he's bisexual, but he's really homoromantic and heterosexual -- he didn't use either of those words, he was just talking about how he can only feel an emotional connection with guys but he only likes to sleep with girls. (That's a pretty unlucky combination if you ask me.) But at the end of the day, he still calls himself bi, because he compromises in his realationship and he still sleeps with guys even though he doesn't really like it, and he still dates girls even if he has no romantic feelings for them.

 

What you're describing is being close emotionally but not physically, which is friendship. Romance cannot exist without the sexual aspect. Romantic love has a physical aspect.

 

I disagree. Just like how it's possible to feel sexual attraction towards someone you don't even know and therefore have no emotional/romantic connection with them, I believe the opposite is also true: you can fall in love with someone without wanting to sleep with them.

What if a couple got together and they were both romantically and sexually into each other but then one day their sex life just disappeares for whatever reason -- maybe loss of libido due to stress or depression or simply because they're getting old. What about an elderly married couple who are not having sex anymore? Are they just friends?

Yes, most of the time, romance and sex go hand in hand with each other, but it is also possible to have just one or the other.

That's the difference between romantic love and friendly love, though; the aspect of attraction. You don't have to have sex to be in love, but you have to be interested in physical intimacy or else you're not in love, you just love the person. Like 99.999% of the population understands this; even young children get it.

 

How do you define physical intimacy though? Because it can mean anything from being inside someone's personal space to actually having sex with them. What if someone is in love with someone else, you know they get the butterflies in the stomach and they get jealous when they see their love with someone else and all that, but the only type of psysical intimacy they want is holding hands and cuddling and maybe kissing, but they don't want to touch each others private parts? I don't think you can call this friendship, it's definitely more than that.

Well I like to hug family members and friends and even kiss them (I'm not talking about a French kiss, just a peck on the cheek!) and there is sure as hell nothing sexual about any of that! I'd definitely freak out if I had any sexual feelings toward my grandma.

Reply 1994 update

 

 

 

So I finished watching the episode. Here's what happened:

- Bing and Trash had a coffee in the hospital. Bing told Trash he went back to school (at least I think that's what he told him), and Trash gave him his old notes.
- This was followed by one of the camp scenes. This was the camp that took place in 1994, so this one was in the past.

- Bing wasn't enjoying it at all.
- On the first day they made him drink so much he threw up.
- The next day they went mount climbing. Bing was tired. Trash was also there, he helped him carry his bag. (I think this is the very first time they met. Bing called Trash "ajusshi".)
- Later the seniors and juniors had lunch together and Trash was joking around with Bing because of the "ajusshi" thing.
- Later: Another camp scene, this time it's in 1997. I guess this one happened after Bing decided to go back to school.
- A guy pours a lot of alcohol into a bowl and they start passing it around in a circle. Everyone drinks only a sip of it, so it looks like Bing is the one who has to drink everything that's left because he's the last to drink. But the girl sitting next to him saves him by drinking it all.

- She asks for a kiss in exchange. He doesn't want to do it so she kisses him instead. He doesn't seemed to be enjoying it but it wasn't really clear how he felt about it either. (It's impossible to read his facial expressions. ><)
- Later at night he was laying awake thinking about it, when he saw the girl leave.

- He got up and followed her to the bus stop. Asked her where is she going at this hour.

- He kind of seemed to be into her but I'm really not sure. (Like I said, I can't read his expressions...)
- Later at home, he listened to a phone message that was left by her(?) I couldn't understand the message. He seemed to be deep in thought.

 

-The episode ends with the R97 cast on the bus scene. Trash was also on the bus. He and Shiwon got into a fight over the music played on the radio.(?) LOL

- Yunjae hugged Junhee and he got nervous - like usual (Remember, this is in 1997 so he's still very much in love with him! ... I miss Yunjae/Junhee. T_T)

After Bing listened to the girl's message, he called someone. I assume it was Trash cause he said 'sunbaenim', and he was starting to say he just called because he wanted to hear his voice but then he corrected himself and said he wanted to ask what's up. (?) So it really seems like he's still into Trash and not the girl. But I don't really know... What was the point of adding that girl in the show in the first place if he's not into her?

 

Anyway, that "confession scene" - which is apparently not really a confession scene after all - will happen tomorrow.

LOl probably if the director IS trying to educate people abt gay stuff, is that they are trying to force a pretty girl onto him but in the end he is not interested because he likes dude, and obviously trash. Or maybe the director is trolling us, and trying to distract us form bing futur partner? I mean remember in 1997 hoya also had a girl confessing to him after he danced on that stage and then we get a scene of him confessing his love to yunjae. I mean i see the same pattern here, the way the director is thinking lol, making a girl like bing and then bing confess to trash later. And plus that red car scene!!!!

 

I'm going with Hoya nd Binggeurae sharing the same car, trash is obviously not the guy now it confirmed with this epsode lol. I mean trash and yunjae reaction was the same when hoya and bing told he was waiting for someone to pick him up instead

 

I really hope that car is Junhee's and Bing's car and they are not just trolling us again! ><

 

I can't take any more disappointments after they sank my Trash/Bing ship.

What I find a bit strange is that Trash is still so touchy-feely with Bing in 2013 even though he knows he's gay and has a boyfriend. One would think that he'd tone down the skinship a little bit.
