I don't understand what "kkap" means exactly (feel free to explain it to me) but maybe Sungjong would fit in the description? Myungsoo did have a scandal with a girl, Sungjong looked a bit out of it afterwards (if I remember well??).

 

Or Ukiss maybe?? I don't follow these groups that much...

 

I thought Shinee at first, but they seem too popular for the description? Many things hinted at them though.

Infinite is very popular in Korea so I don't think it's them.

Yeah, you're right, they are popular. I thought maybe they were not that popular at the beginning? I don't know them enough, sorry.

DB5K was considered one of the top groups so I doubt it. The "kkap" member would be Jaejoong? I don't see it to be honest... Plus, the "Yunjae" relationship increased their popularity, not the other way around... (they even did a drama about it). I don't remember them having a scandal with a girl either (aside from Junsu and Taeyeong, maybe??)

 

I don't know much about H.O.T. but they were really popular at the time too. (I only know that Kangta was Jaejoong's ideal type at some point xD)

 

I have another question. If it's 2am (with JoKwon), who was the other member who had a scandal with a girl? I don't follow them so I don't know...

I don't follow them though.... I can't help. Do we know if the translation changed something about their answers? Sometimes the gender (or lack of) doesn't match in Korean and English.

Sungmin was more accepting of who he was then. Not sure when he changed or why. I'm sure that's what led to Kangin and him being so odd and distant. It's unfortunate as he now seems so unhappy in pics, except for the few pics taken with his wife for fans. I'm sure Kangin is straight, his fan service stopped but he def seems like an ally. He always appeared, to me anyway, to be the straight protecting type.

Considering the first "group" he was in, I believe he had no choice but to become an ally xD. He was part of "Four seasons" composed of Yunho, Jaejoong, and Heechul... Strong combo.

I see him as straight... But you never know. Fan service can be soooo confusing too.

What if the idols that we think are gay are actually trans like Caitlin Jenner?

Keeping in mind that everything here is just guessing, I wouldn't be surprised by Heechul. He has feminine features, but that's not the main point (this is more about genetics). He often talks about how "pretty" he is. "prettier than girls", "so pretty that he cannot find a girlfriend because they are not as pretty as him"... He crossdresses a lot. More than what is expected of him for entertainment/comic relief. He does it on his own too. 

I'm not saying that he's trans* (who am I to say that?!) but i definitely wouldn't be surprised.

 

Another person who I could imagine being trans* but maybe more on the non-binary side of the spectrum, would be Junsu. But I'm basing my opinion on very superficial things (Tarantallegra MV... among other things), so it doesn't mean much probably. Junsu looks like someone quite openminded and not afraid of showing a more feminine side of himself.

It was really sad. He clearly hints at a depression in these gifs. I wondered about this opportunity too. It could be the opportunity to learn from it and grow? But it's suspicious.

 

However, I watched the commentary (with Infinite watching their dvd) and the amont of teasing from the other members to Sungjong and Myungsoo is hilarious. When the video says someone is coming to comfort Sungjong (it's Sungyeol, I think), the members were "Myung-Myung-Myungsoo??!". When Sungjong gives his letter to Myungsoo (he gave one to everyone in the group), they said something like "Is he going to hug him?"... There were other moments too but I forgot.

So... Either they know about the shipping and are making fun of them for that. Or, they know they are together and don't care about secrecy anymore.

I don't like the "as a man" expression... If YunHo is gay (which I think he is) and was in a relationship with Jaejoong (which is in my opinion very possible), comparing him to a woman was not his smartest move. 

 

Anyway! Jaejoong is obviously tipsy in this video (there is another from the same night when his bodyguards have to grab him to stop him from running around outside the club :D). And when jaejoong drinks, like he said in several interviews, he kisses people (he's not far from doing it in the video) 

I see Jaejoong as a clingy person anyway. Not just when he's drunk. He obviously has many issues, (attachment ones? abandonment ones?) and he seems to be the kind of person who needs constant reassurance when it comes to relationships (including friendship, family...)

Or it could be that he grew up with girls and is more used to it. 

 

I'm not sure if it gives any information about his sexuality though.

Lol Coco is adorable and Mark has a weakness for cute things. As for the more Jinson and Markjae moments I think the later half of both pairings is trying to get Mark and Jinyoung to take a break from each other because at the start of this year they were at lot closer and touchy feely with each other.

Most people here see Jaejoong as AT LEAST bisexual. I think he's gay.

Yoochun is probably straight, or maybe ready to experiment at some point.

Nobody knows what's going on with Junsu.

Beside the fact that he thinks necessary to reassert his straightness (Junsu, I thought you were better than that. Just say "thanks" and go on!), I think it's quite interesting.

1) "Recently": It must have been hard all those years being around non-straight people then?

2) "There are quite a few ones in our staff too". Quite a few ones. Important ones? Just checking... for... science, you know.

3) We still don't know. Is he straight? Is he bi? Is he pan? Is he a hitsumabushivorous squealing dolphin? No one knows.

I'm guessing here, but all the sexual tension in their group caused by Yunjae, probably took a toll and he may not have been ok with it for a time.    While we don't know if the translation is 100%, at least it seems like he's a good ally now.   and Yes, I think he swings both ways

I also wonder sometimes... Is someone who takes part in a cross dressing contest (pre-debut!) more likely to be an ally (or at least more aware of trans* people, as well as the drag queen culture in parts of the LGBT community???)  Or was it just a big joke for them at the time? I'm thinking of Junsu and Eunhyuk. 

 

 

And I was not into Kpop when Hug came out (I was barely 11, and we didn't even have internet at the time). So I'm probably not "old enough", haha, but I know the song very well. (Changmin kissing a cat and Yoochun shaving his non-existent beard is unforgettable).

Hey, it's quite easy. I mostly talk about DB5K/TVXQ!/JYJ because FANGIRL, sometimes Heechul because ADORABLY WEIRD, and I enjoy reading about Myungjong because CUTE. 

Sometimes I don't post for weeks because I don't know about the groups, or don't care, or basically have nothing to add to the discussion. 

If I want to talk about someone, I do.

I don't care much about Exo (with some exceptions... let's be honest). I don't recognize half of the people who are mentioned here. I only know Jackson in Got7 and I still don't know who is who in Winner. SO what?
This is a thread on a kpop forum. We are lucky enough that this thread works this well. We have (often) great discussions. People are (most of the time) very open minded. There is enough humour and sarcasm so that it doesn't become boring, and some analysis are really well thought and written.

I think they believe in the "gay for somebody" stuff. Their bias can be with the other part of the ship, but not with another guy. Their bias should be at the same time straight, never have a girlfriend, be "gay for" ___. 

It's really weird, because of course their bias will never go out with them. So at least we should hope for him to be happy? But no. No girlfriend, no gayness. Poor Myungsoo, poor Jonghyun..   Only one person is allowed next to the bias. And I do believe that if they truly wanted to get married for instance, it would cause an issue. It's okay as long as it's fantasy material. As long as it belongs to fanfictions. As long as it is to please the fangirl. 

Idols are not people anymore, they are made objects. Fantasies, walking yaoi.

I'm still a bit confused by the way he goes back and forth between being the most obvious guy on earth and trying to deny it with songs like "just another girl" and saying "I'm not gay", "I'm not like that" on stage. I mean, I know why he does it, but I don' see how anyone could be convinced by it. It's random and clearly not enough to balanced everything else.

Has anyone other than me expressed that they think something is/was going on between Sehun and Kai? I know there are people on the forum who think so, but they don't count (in this instance) because they're Sekai shippers. I'm wondering if there's an objective  party who doesn't ship the two of them, but thinks, or has had the impression/inkling, that they were more than friends.

 

I don't know Exo that well, but I follow Kai a little bit (because I like his dancing). In my opinion, there is nothing more in their interactions than between Kai and Kyungsoo, Kai and Taemin, and probably Kai and Timoteo (if they were in the same company). Kai remains a mystery for me. He does stare a lot, so it's not easy to tell. When I look at "Kaisoo", it seems real. But then I look at "Taekai" and it seems real too. I don't see it that much with "Sekai", I don't know. They had their moments too though...

I was also pretty convinced that Sehun and Tao had a thing, or if they hadn't, that Sehun was closer to Tao than to Kai (which wouldn't be logical if Sehun and Kai were together, considering they were in the same group, spoke the same language... etc)

 

No one can tell for sure, obviously. Too much fanservice, a different culture, it's really not easy. I'm pretty sure Sehun is gay but that's it.

So... Myungjong? I don't know those trending groups that well tbh, so they are the first to come to mind. Is Shinee considered "trending"? They are not promoting now, right? But Taemin is, and Jonghyun, kinda? No idea...

 

I am curious too, and I hope it will path the way for other idols to come out, but at the same time... I'm really worried. I really hope your theory is right and that they agreed with the media beforehand so that they would have the public's sympathy.
