But anyway while reading ive seen that  most of the ships that were seen as true or true at some point back then, for example yunjae, hanchul and myungjong, are today by most here not seen as real. With the exception of jongkey. When talking about key ive read people describing jongkey as a possibility. From my memory the recepits for jongkey were as substantial as most kpop ships, i cant remember there being any crazy clear sign. I can understand if people dont want to talk about it because of the circumstances. But I am more just interested in seeing what peoples opinions are on jongkey from todays lens, since it was such a widely discussed ship before. So im wondering if people have thoughts on jongkey :)

People were bringing up several 2nd gen ships well into 3rd gen as examples of real relationships, it was legit kinda funny to me. They would dismiss all the popular 3rd gen ships, being completely aware of the fact that they were just fanservice and fandom created narratives. But then somehow every time they would bring up a ship they thought was real, it was one of the most popular 2nd gen ships, almost never something obscure. No one was able to ask themselves why is it that these ships that they perceived as real and were emotionally invested in were all somehow the most popular 2nd gen ships that they fell in love with when they were clueless teens, while as adults they were able to recognize that 3rd gen ships were largely bull. Was there something magically different about the 3rd gen, or is it just that you...grew up?

Anyway, I'd add Eunhae to your list as well, they certainly had their troopers. As for Jongkey, I remember reading the big receipts and they were honestly deeply delusional. Key adjusting his chair at an event was analyzed in like 3 paragraphs and the conclusion was that it was because Jonghyun broke his heart by having a girlfriend.

People created this entire arc where Jonghyun and Key were close to dating initially, but then Jonghyun had internalized homophobia and ran away and got a girlfriend, but then years later he came to terms with his sexuality and started happily dating Key. Just writing this all out sounds so surreal to me, but it happened and it was generally a well received concept by the users here and a bunch fully believed in it. If anyone wants to read some of this, I recommend starting here, here and here

Now, I apologize cause I'm about to be a downer, but the fact that people wanted to discuss their literal kpop ship even after everything that had happened was deeply disturbing to me to say the least. This is meant to be a fun gossip thread to talk about LGBT rights and discuss things that idols have said or done in that context based on publicly available information, and half of the active users at that time thought it was normal to insist on shipping a deceased person with someone who was grieving. It's just a testament to the fact that kpop fans do not see idols as real people.

But to not make this terribly depressing, you guys wanna hear something funny? The reason why this thread used to focus so much on shipping back in the day can be explained quite easily; the person who was viewed as the most reputable user by others at that time due to her extremely Rational analyses which would routinely get over 50 upvotes was literally just a 14 year old girl lmao (who by her own admission grew out of her takes and this place, so the rest of us are probably even bigger losers for sticking around lol).

This is legit absolutely hilarious, raspberry84 is shocked and appalled cause I had not only managed to remember their half a decade old post, but I also dug it up and called it deeply delusional unprovoked, and I am shocked and appalled that they actually showed up only to double down on their Jongkey fanfic (tags: Shin Sekyung appears, hurt and comfort, do not like do not read). It's truly like I said, this place is a losertown and we're all living in it, bring out that circus 10 hour loop track again.

Bingo them boys are gay but good at mascing it, especcially Hanbin. Before I saw him wacking I would never have guessed. I belive Hui is and Keita too.

Tsk tsk you guys have already forgotten that during the Hyuna/Dawn dating scandal Hui also somehow got exposed for dating Gidle Soojin which led to a legendary knetz comment "ahh our third wheel Hui is dating well too," which was followed by the subsequent clarification by Cube that the two had indeed dated, but they have already broken up. Truly the times.

Anyway, we were teased in the preview and then robbed in the actual episode of the Hanbin vs Haruto dance battle. How long are we allowing mnet to continue with their crimes? 😤

Can we already consider Taerae as part of Girly Pop Planet?

Taerae's application is being processed currently, please stay tuned~.

The way I thought Taerae's inclusion in this video was mostly a random joke just a few days ago. 😭

Obviously bisexuality is real, the problem is that people use it as a coping mechanism when it turns out that their supposedly totally 100% gay oppa has a girlfriend. No idol is ever going to come out as bi, especially if they're in a het relationship already, so if you want you can claim it about anybody and never be proven wrong. It reduces being bi to a sort of tokenism when people can't cope with the fact that their fantasies weren't real rather than an actual identity.

We are all allowed 1 (one) They Could Still Be Bi Get Out of Jail Free card for a male and a female idol each, and guess what, we've all used them up on Keeho and Yubin just now. It's just COPE from here on out for all of us.

An idol publicly commenting on their sexuality in any unambiguous way should probably be taken as gospel tbh. If anyone on here is concerned about overreaching, telling an idol that they are wrong about their own sexuality would be where that line is lol

I mean, people are closeted, you know? I feel like things are improving these days, but I remember in the past multiple idols who appeared to be very obviously gay saying how they are real Korean men who like women. Even Daehwi is out there saying stuff like that, and you're telling me I'm supposed to listen to that stuff from a guy who released Rose, Scent, Kiss?
