TBH this is how I'm feeling lately. I used to think pairings like Hanchul and Jongkey were real bc of skinship, but now it seems so clear to me that they're friendships. In that society, ppl in a relationship wouldn't be so obvious on camera imo.

 

Like I'm into BTS so I'll use Jimin as an example. Even if he's not straight he's too touchy and posts too many selcas (like with Jungkook) and his ships are given too much attention by BH (like him and Yoongi) for me think he's with any of the members. But lately I do think he's not straight. I just can't look into ~looks or fanservice for "proof" of a relationship. His mannerisms and interactions with multiple members do make me wonder about him tho. Just not ships, the more I see a ship pushed on camera the less I think there's anything going on between them.

That's me too. It's hard to see what's real or not with these ships that are pushed so much. Big Hit is obviously pushing Yoonmin, but I always thought that was very platonic, and that Jimin looked up to Yoongi in an younger brother-older brother kinda way (which I think he mentioned in the Festa questionnaire). I don't think any BTS ship is real but I do think Jimin is not straight. Just something about his behaviour. Like in AHL it didn't seem like he was particularly interested in the girls while for example Jungkook and Yoongi seemed shy. I don't think that necessarily means anything for those two (or that they're not very smooth irl lmao), but in Jimin's case he didn't seem to care that much.

Yoongi is definitely influenced by Hoseok, but he's a dork himself too when he bothers to show it. But Hoseok def brings that side of him out.

they kind of became interesting to me with how open they were with their relationship and how much they revealed in their insta posts, so I kinda tracked both of them on Insta

it all started with them deleting that matching jewelry post, what was it, watches, rings? anyway, that was the post that was gone first, and they deleted it (at the same time) after getting all the wrong attention for it and there was a lot of homophobia going on in the comments, it was ugly, I put some comments into a translator app (which weren't in English) and people are soooooo disgusting, I hate those immature lil fangirls and also those straight up homophobes who spewed hate all over their accounts until they were forced to do this

I don't think they broke up, I think they are just laying low (I'm hoping that's it at least), maybe they were told by Kwon's team to delete the pics cause it was stirring people up in Korea? last time I checked, they still both kept up old pics of the two of them together, and deleted all the newer ones, as well as the more revealing ones (the jewelry, them exercising together, some suspicious positions etc), I'm about to go lurk now again 

anyway, I want Kwon to be happy and still with his hot bf

Yep. I thought so too. One poster here was being really obnoxious and was all over this thread and forum making sure everyone knew, and it was extremely annoying. If you have something that private, it's best to keep it to yourself, or DM it others or something. His instagram used to be extremely chill and quiet until people started paying more attention to it cause of all the online posts.

Yeah, I think the issue here is that the guy involved is not a celebrity. Perhaps for the future it's best to either keep it in spoilers or DM only.

There are two things about V that make me discount any interactions he has with the other members of BTS and to take those interactions with a grain or three of salt. 

 

1.) V is consistently the most extroverted showman of the group. Extroversion doesn't necessarily mean showing off and acting up, but in V's case it doe and I personally think he's probably the person in BTS who's "on" the most. J-Hope can outshine V pretty easily, but J-Hope doesn't turn his showmanship on as often as V does. V seems to always have it going.

 

2.) I think that of all the members in BTS, V is the one who is most aware of where the camera is and is the one most likely to pander to it. In fact he's actually admitted to this before. He was asked if he acts differently when the camera is on and he said yes. To be fair, I'm sure that all the members act at least a little differently when the camera is on--it'd be impossible not to, and they can't act completely natural when filming is going on. However, it's my opinion that V is the one in BTS who is most aware of this, and so much of what he does is done with those cameras in mind.

 

Having said that, here's a moment of V checking out J-Hope that seems pretty genuine.

 

 

I agree. I also think Jimin does his dose of pandering as well, he's very aware of fans/cameras. But at the same time some Jikook interactions are way too suspicious for me, while I don't see it with any other Jimin ships (sadly Jihope seems one-sided).

 

When it comes to Taehyung though, one thing to keep in mind is that he's really close to his parents and is big on filial piety. Thus if he really is gay (I honestly don't know bc he's hard to read, but I do think he's attracted to women) I can sadly see him being closeted and stuck in a marriage in the future precisely bc of how he feels about his family. I hope this isn't the case bc it's just too sad (although it's a reality of many people all over the world, not just in Korea).

I honestly don't understand why Taekook shippers say that the cuddling scene in BV was reversed? Like why bother keeping the whole clip in but reverse the order? What would be the point of doing that? I know Taehyung ruined the moment by asking "Why are you here?" at the end but all the hugging and kissing was still there so I highly doubt the editing team changed anything. But that's just my opinion so please ignore me.

Nah, that's what I said too when the theory first popped up. If you think about it logically, it makes no sense that it was edited (why bother keeping it in if you're going to edit it? the ending result is the same). But with shippers there's not much logic lmao. It still looks sweet/cute whether it was edited or not, but there's no point in making up conspiracy theories.

Jimin actually went to Yoongi's house during the very short break that the BTS members got. Jimin lives in Busan and Yoongi lives in Daegu. Those places are almost 90 KM apart. It takes around an hour and a half to reach there by taxi.

I'm just saying that it's weird to go all the way to another member's house when you have just like three days of rest and time to spend with your family. They see each other 24/7 in Seoul anyway. I find this a little strange. Like, why bother?

I mean, it's not that weird. jimin and yoongi are pretty close, it wouldn't be the first time that members visit each other's family. I don't think it's weird per se or unique to yoonmin, but it could be me being biased as I never saw anything possibly romantic in yoonmin.

Yeah I know they're all close and that it could be nothing. I personally don't find Yoonmin suspicious either (except for that famous You know/I know moment) but it's just that they have a very limited time with their own families and to go visit another family in that time seems like a very sweet gesture to me. 

It is very cute, I always liked Yoonmin's relationship because it seems to me like Jimin really admires Yoongi plus I loved it when he said that he wants to be Yoongi's real life younger brother (that is one of the reasons why I can't see anything romantic in their interactions in general, Jimin said that unprompted and I don't think he'd say that if he liked him/or if they were actually dating). Although I am confused if that trip happened during Chuseok or after that bc Yoongi seemed to have gone to Daegu a little bit before the comeback to see the dog. Semantics, I guess.

 

Speaking of BTS, I don't think VHope are as awkward as they used to be. But it still seems one-sided from Taehyung's part (much like Jihope seems one-sided from JHope's part).

Ah did he? I didn't know about that. Yoongi once said that he'd date Jimin if he had to choose among the members and to go on vacations with haha so I see Yoonmin in a neutral light. There could be something there but Jimin has eyes only for Jungkook

But yeah it was during Chuseok holidays when Yoongi posted pictures of Holly. So Jimin mostly went at that time.

Bighit has interesting strategy of promoting unpopural ships: they start forcing a ship a year prior it has to bomb. Like, remember these photos of Vmon around War of hormone/Wake up eras (October-December of 2014), we all were like "Wow, ok, but why", yeah? They were briefly introduced in Prologue (September of 2015) as one of HYYH headcanons, but bombed during Run (December of 2015). Same month Kookiemonster dropped their first cover, (almost) a year after a version of Wings was released under the ship's name.

Taehyung started to bring Vhope back to life by the end of September of 2015, a year after a version of Wings was released under the ship's name.

As you may know, there are 4 version of Wings, each has a pairing assigned (W - Jin x group, I - Vhope, N - Yoonmin, G - KookieMonster).

WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY is that Bighit could have resurrected Vhope just to sell more albums, because Yoonmin in Bangtan's most popular ship, can't be broken; it makes sense to pair up unpopular members with popular to sell more, thus we have Yoonmin, Vhope ans Kookiemonster.  What if everything that has been going on for the past year - the poem, dick-rubbing, master V and J-horse, the smell of J-Hope's bed, the stares, the skinship - was mere desperate attempts to bring back one of Bangtan's canons. Um, I think this is too much of a conspiracy theory lmao. VHope is not popular at all within the Korean fandom (I don't think J-Hope ships are popular in general; Yoonseok, which is probably Yoongi's second most popular ship with international fans, is not as popular while Suga/Jungkook was more popular even before HYYH, Suga/V is also more popular despite the fact that they don't interact that much). If Big Hit cared much about selling albums, they'd pair up Taekook which is still BTS' most popular ship in Korea, not Yoonmin. I do think Big Hit panders to Yoonmin shippers and is pushing it (pre-debut to debut Yoongi did quite some fan service and a lot of it involved Yoonmin, after Boy in Luv he stopped doing it and is how he is nowadays). But I don't think they planned the pairings for Wings all the way last year. Although I have to say that I still don't get the pairings for Wings but oh well.

 

I think Taehyung's interactions with J-Hope are pretty genuine. That's why J-Hope's reactions to them when they were awkward were so jarring.

yeah like I don't think they'd date within the group, but I think that in general with any group. I feel like it's too risky. what if it goes wrong? I don't think it would be worth it, especially for some of them who are very serious about their work and devoted to the group, like jungkook or yoongi

 

whenever I think of park bogum I remember that guy on Reddit saying pbg hit on him in a gay club but he has a famous boyfriend. I don't think dating outside their group would be too risky, it can be easily disguised as being friends (like pbg/v, just an example, I'm sure some people think key was just friends with that model). there'd be less attention on them than with couples within a group too

I honestly find it funny how people only notice ships when they get popular. Like a few months ago, people were all "Yoongi has a crush on Jimin!1!" but now that Yoonseok is popular, it's "Yoongi has a crush on Hoseok!1!"

Yoongi and Hoseok have always been close. They both(and RM) are the ones who write most of BTS' songs and Hoseok even helped Yoongi with his mixtape. They obviously spend a lot of time together and match well too.

 

I'm NOT saying that Yoongi doesn't like Hoseok, but it just sucks that once Yoonmin interactions started reducing, people shifted from "Yoonmin is real" to "Yoonseok is real". I don't care much for either of these ships but Yoongi obviously has a soft spot for both Jimin and Hoseok, and he treats them with a lot of affection. Unless people are trying to say that he had a crush on Jimin but has now moved onto Hoseok, I don't get the sudden shift in opinions...? I guess I'm just one of those people who really dislikes how shipping affects people's perceptions lol Relationships ain't that simple

if you're going by Alexandra's post a couple of pages back, I don't think she made any references to yoonmin? i know yoonmin is the most popular yoongi ship but not everything about yoongi's interactions with other members is about yoonmin lmao. yoonseok has always been popular with international fans but it gained traction last year, independently from yoonmin.

 

I wouldn't even say that he has a particular soft spot for either of them. he treats the younger members well equally I'd say (except I don't think he's particularly close to taehyung and I feel like he sees namjoon more like a peer).

 

oh and even though I always thought, and still think, that there are no romantic or sexual undertones with any of yoongi's ships, if there's one member i'd say he could have a crush on, it would be hoseok imo. but that's just me.

I'm not going by any post cuz I haven't gone through the previous pages so idk what she said. My point is that yoonseok was never even discussed on this thread before but recently people have started saying that Yoongi likes Hoseok ever since Yoonseok blew up and it's just ?? to me.

But I do believe that Yoongi treats Jimin and Hoseok a bit differently, maybe that's just me then.

 

I literally don't think anybody in BTS is Yoongi's type. He's already described his ideal man in great detail. And he's also said that his ideal type is someone similar to himself. His popular ships are all cold&grumpy-meets-bright&warm aesthetic. I love Yoonmin and Yoonseok but shippers read way too much into things.

I don't want to talk about this anymore bc I agree with the "ugh ships" post above and I dislike it when ships take the focus away from this thread, but I'm confused as to why you think Yoonseok was never discussed before. That's not really true, is it? I swear I've seen people talk about it before. I remember someone posting that one gif of Yoongi stroking Hoseok's neck quite a while ago.
