Straight, but might be dtf. Also seems to give zero fucks if a guy is gay or not and actually seems quite supportive, which is sadly a rare thing.

I've seen someone say they want Taeyeon and Heechul be together and I'm just... . Gunheechul are as out as a gay couple can be without directly saying anything or doing anything too intimate.

Never really saw rumors about Han Geng, but I don't think HeeChul was any sort of experiment to him. Most people wouldn't fly to a country they're not really welcome in anymore just to see a guy they had a fling with once. I go back and forth on them, but it's mostly because it's depressing to think about them being together and separating as they did. They got the Bad Ending in the video game of Life. 

 

It's harder to find Chinese stuff than Korean stuff, for me anyway. Don't know why that is.

I'm interested in this one too, but I gave up as soon as I read it because it'd be pretty much completely impossible to tell without seeing them all naked, and even then if they transitioned fully and had a good surgeon...

 

 

 

It's definitely not anybody from Super Junior. Very few groups get lauded for their precision dancing, and Super Junior isn't one of them.

 

 

 

 

Respect isn't really part of the equation, it's about being entertained. I mean look at GD. A lot of people lost respect for him after his weed scandal, but people still adore him as an entertainer. They talk shit in the off season, but as soon as a single or an album comes out everybody is singing his praises 

 

Yeah, there's no way to know without resorting to very illegal/unethical means. That could have bad consequences for them if becomes known, sadly...

 

G-D is an interesting case. He gets a lot of shit for the drugs, dating a "Japanese right-winger" (according to k-netz), and so on, yet he and Big Bang are still widely regarded despite all the scandals. It's interesting.

 

 

 

Hm, this is quite confusing tbvh. So there is no recently in the context? If there were, I'd doubt it be either Key, Tao, Sungjong or Heechul but if it's a rumour from ages ago, it's indeed possible. (or, as most of the time I simply overthink every little detail)

She made her account private so I dunno if there is really anything else but you're right. It doesn't make any sense cause we rarely see heechul with her while gunhee probably lives with him lol

 

I remember that, gave me a good chuckle. That was really reaching. Then it made me sad that some people will go through such mental hoops to convince themselves someone they like isn't gay. He's happy, isn't that what matters? I guess not to some people...

The US is more open-minded than somewhere like South Korea on that, but there's still a lot of conservatism here. That people still have to "come out" and risk being kicked out by their families, bullied and beaten, etc, is proof that we still have a long way to go. 

 

As for military enlistment, being gay is still considered a mental illness and you'll be denied from joining. A Korean male not doing their mandatory military service is a big no-no there. Add that to even having gay rumors around a bunch of other guys who need to assert their "manliness," and... yeah. It's bad. 

No, GunHee isn't a celebrity, but he's still gonna be affected by it. Then again, he seems out to those around him and comfortable with it. He's one of those guys who you can just tell is gaaaaaayyyy. As for whether YunHo would be affected, to an extent, yes. Everyone knew about YunJae during DB5K, if not by name, at least by DBSK's leader and lead singer. But I'm sure a blatant denial would suffice for the people who really want to believe in it. Hell, fans will probably make up some bullshit about it relating to why DBSK split.

It happens especially in the acting world, I've heard, because obviously, you can't act straight once everyone knows you're actually gay (I'm rolling my eyes into next week.) Americans also get caught up in the idea of "teenage heartthrobs" or whatever, so if a large part of your appeal is that you're attractive to the opposite sex, it might affect you negatively if you effectively kill your fanbase's fantasies, lol.

 

And we still have a long way to go in general, there are still a lot of people who are homophobic/religious nutjobs/ect, so there's a lot of lgbt still in danger of losing their families/jobs, being bullied, ect ;;;; 

 

Ringo basically explained everything else, haha. But while Gunhee seems like he's out to everyone, he might not be out to his family, or his job or sth. There's a lot of things he could be worried about, and Heechul too, obviously.

 

And yeah, I think Yunho would be affected if Jaejoong came out, but it's obviously in the past so it's possible that it could just be denied/brushed off. I think even moreso I would worry about that UKiss guy if Jo Kwon came out, since that was like a legitimate scandal o.o

 

Yes, appeal is a huge factor. How a company wants to market a celebrity plays a huge role in what they say, how they act, etc. If a company is making a boy band to appeal to tween/teen girls, they're gonna make damn sure everything they do reinforces that image whether it's a lie or not (and most often it is). I notice (in the US, at least) a lot of boybands/idols are marketed as making all the girls want them, and the girl idols are marketed as making other girls want to be her. Since the idol in question being gay would destroy that illusion, it's a lot of "shut your mouth and do as you're told." I've heard that there are even dating contracts where celebrities date one another for a certain period of time. I'm sure it's a thing in other countries, too.

 

Well, GunHee is a hairstylist, and that profession has always tended to attract more of the not-so-straight variety. ;p  He probably knows other gay men in the industry. It's the higher ups you keep quiet around. Family-wise, he's probably out to his sister, at least, since she seems to have met Heenim. Never seen anything about his parents and it's none of my business anyway, but an unmarried guy who's a hairdresser and spends all his time around another man in South Kora would probably raise some red flags for them. I always wondered if HeeChul is out to his parents. I mean, it seems like it would be impossible not to notice, but idk...

 

Ahhh I forgot about that Jo Kwon/SooHyun scandal... yeah, that would be a problem... those messages were pretty blatant. Whoever released someone's private messages is a piece of shit.

Being "manly" has nothing to do with a guy's sexuality though. Tao is one of the easier ones to pick up on since he's more comfortable with himself in that aspect. I find him very obvious, anyway.

Whether certain relationships are real or fake, contractual dating set up by companies is absolutely a thing when they want the PR or to cover up a bigger scandal. The entertainment world is full of shady practices and cover ups.

 

 

We also have to remember that this is all speculation.

If there were any real evidence, then we wouldn't be speculating and all of Korea would know, too.

We go by hints and perception, and a "feeling".
