Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

I think that's the issue I'm having. There are some fans that take a ship so seriously to the point, they get angry over anything said towards that ship. I think that's one of my main issues with this thread. I like the discussions that go on about society and equality, but then some posts, and not calling anyone out, just seem like a fairy tale. Then you have one side that believes sexuality of another person is private and shouldn't be discussed while others, think there is need for long discussions about the matter. I don't side either way really, just wanted to start a discussion. I hope my post is making some sense. And OT, I just found out Lauryn Hill may be a homophobe, and I am not here for that. Why Lauryn, why?

This thread isn't like that though. Nobody here is a hardcore shipper as in my ship is the only one that's real!!11

There's two sides to this thread: the first one is about shipping, spamming pictures of Key or just making jokes and then there's the second one where we speculate, have serious conversations about sexuality and/or homosexuality in Korea and where we sometimes post stuff that are personal or that we can relate to.

The first mistake people make when coming to this thread is taking everything seriously. Sometimes we just think oh this idol looks bad here let me post this picture in the who's gay thread but that doesn't mean we think he is gay... we also want to have fun.

Also people are different but most of the people that post here don't see discussing sexuality as a bad thing and like talking about the former. I just think it's very interesting to speculate who is gay in an industry that promotes malexmale fan service/relationships but then the country condemns homosexuality.

People take this thread way too seriously sometimes.

Also I would like to thank you for being nice. Most people would be like why are you guys so obsessed with gays? xD

I guess my problem lies within the shipping. I'm not a shipper and don't have anything shipping, but I'm not a spazzer either. I think more into the serious side of the thread, but I guess I get that you don't always want to be serious. I've seen how this thread has been perceived, but I guess you really just have to discuss with the people here to truly get it. I think I'm just at a place where I don't mind talking about sexuality, but when it comes to others sexuality, it's more difficult seeing as it is a touchy subject to discuss someone you do not know. Even when it is blatantly obvious, no stereotypes included. I find it hypocritical to have malexmale or femalexfemale ships and promote, but then condemn homosexuality. It boggles my mind when the industry and fans themselves do this. Aww, thank you :meow: I get why people may come in with that type of attitiude because on the surface, this thread may seem like it's filled to the brim with fan girls and males spazzing over idols and maybe sharing benign info. They may only be reading the fun posts and percieve this thread as that. I'll never be intentionally be rude about something, whether I agree with it or not. I may come in from time to time *shrugs* may or may not talk about celebrities, but I may join some of the more serious discussions :ninja:

Yeah shipping can be annoying as seen on tumblr or youtube but I think we do it more tastefully here. I can understand why people don't like shipping but for me it's very fun and I've been shipping even before getting into k-pop. I just always had a preference for male couples xD

I try my best to keep the ship wars at bay and to show that every ship is welcomed here as well as different opinions.

I don't think it's bad to talk about celebrities sexuality because everyone talks about them weather be about their bodies or who got divorce. I think it's just a celebrity thing but once again I can understand why people don't like it.

For me and for other people it's also a way to feel more connected to our idols since a lot, if not most of us, are LGBTQIA.

Yeah this thread has gotten a lot of shit for no reason, really but welp I don't want to worry about that anymore because I used to get really upset and someone even told me that I had a fetish for gay people so I want to move on from that.

Anyways I do hope you come in here from time to time and post whatever you find interesting and/or relevant. I wouldn't mind "seeing more fresh "faces" in this thread ^^

Sorry everyone for the non relevant long posts.

Welp :D

Well this is very true. I think sexuality may be seen as private, but so are the other aspects of a celebrities life which we the public deem, public. Relationships, plastic surgery, what houses they buy, the clothes they wear, the people they're friends with, their families, drug abuse, rumors, the list can go on for days. It seems we as the consumers talk about so many aspects of celebrities life that can be deemed private, yet we cross the line in certain areas because that is too private.

As a celebrity there is nothing that is private or too private.

I know this is unfair but by becoming and being a celebrity they abdicate from their right to have a personal life. I do not agree with this but it's the reality. We care about their lives because we care and look up to them and then some other times we just wan to see someone who has everything/is at the top crumble and fall down as many of us do.

Celebrities always look amazing and live this fantasy life that we stop seeing them as humans so being involved in their "private" kinda shows us that yes they also make mistakes and that yes they are also human.

Hope it makes sense. This is just my take at to why we care so much about what celebs do outside of the stage or filming set.

Oh no, I get what you're saying. I agree, though I don't like it. I don't think it's impossible for celebrities to keep their private and public lives seperate. Some celebrities have actually accomplished that without losing relevance. What I mean is, why is it okay in peoples mind that one of the topics I gave as example, are more acceptable to talk about than what is being discussed here when they have nothing to do with us?

Yeah some of them have accomplished that but it's very hard and I have no idea how they do it.

I have no idea tbh. Maybe there's still a stigma when it comes to talking about sexuality?

I really can't say. Hopefully someone here will be more helpful than I was able to be.

Anyway, about Taemin staring at boobs -- I asked in the LGBTQIA thread and gay guys who answered said they stare, too. Take from it what you will, if anything.

Maybe Taemin likes both genders. Why is that sometimes overruled/non relevan/overlooked/wtv in this thread?

This. We can't use a percentage used for a whole country as a parameter for a certain segment. It's like, if you walk into a gay bar, the ratios for a whole country would be totally messed up. We may have to take a look that the Kpop environment is a lot gay friendly (even though it's kind of "you can be gay, that's fine, just don't tell anybody").

I wouldn't necessarily say that the kpop environment is gay friendly.

That's why I said "(even though it's kind of "you can be gay, that's fine, just don't tell anybody")".

Yeah but you also said friendly which I don't really think it is.

But I get you.

Showbiz often exists in a this kind of duality. It is gay friendly on the inside, but it also caters to people's prejudices for living. So it's kind of in-between, I'd say.

Mte.

Relevant.

If we talk about the gay-friendliness of K-pop's insides, I think we should mention Tao and Sehun. They were all over each other at those Idol Olympics or what it was and the manager kind of scolded them at one point. They didn't much care, though. From the recent fansign there is this:

That doesn't necessarily show that they are gay friendly but just that they are close friends and that they are comfortable enough to do excessive fanservice/skinship.

I actually think Taohun is a bit ahead the fanservice line. Of course they do fanservice-y things, but come on. If we compile all what they've been doing since the start of this year, we would have to create a new forum only for them.

Tao and Sehun are the top on my gay list. Some of you may know, but Sehun has a (korean) rumor of him having a boyfriend before debut. And Tao...... Well.

I do believe there's something going on between them.

As a person who has been a fan of k-pop since 2009 it takes more that just that video to think there's more between them and since I've only watched that video and was talking about that video like other users here I only said that based on that video and that video alone it's not possible, for me, to think that there's more than just friendship between them. Plus I said fanservice/skinship not just fanservice.

I could change my mind if I watched other videos of them but I don't really care for them so not going to bother.

With this said I do believe that Tao is flaming.

One video alone isn't enough to prove that there's something between them, and this is quite obvious. No one said that video alone is enough to say they are fucking. I bet h0neanias used it as an example to raise the questions about Tao and Sehun, and then I made the long-ass post with some (SOME) moments of them.

You missed the point. I said that based on just that video I don't think there's more than friendship and it was the video that was mentioned so I just said what I got after watching this video.

I've never actually posted here before so I don't know exactly how I'm supposed to bring up my canidate for gay idol, so I'll just come out and say N from VIXX. There really isn't a specific gif/jpeg I can show to help me prove my case, but just after watching all of VIXXTV and after seeing how touchy-feely he gets with the rest of the group and just how he carries himself makes me feel like he is at least Bi, if not gay. T_T Sorry for the rant and probably useless post to this thriving thread, I just wanted to get that out and I felt this would be the best place to put my thoughts. If there's any regulars here that actually follows Vixx and has any opinions on it, I'd be happy to hear them about it. Just quote me with your response and I'll definately take into my thoughts of accusation against him.

Good lord, I didn't mean to write a paragraph:._.:

Hi and welcome :D
